Trial date set in NY’s Leticia James grudge case against Trump and his eldest children

If Democrats have their way, Donald Trump will be too busy in court to ever campaign for president. Either way, there can be no argument that the former president is the most persecuted man in modern U.S. history.

On Tuesday, a judge ruled that a $250 million civil fraud case brought by New York Attorney General Letitia James targeting Trump, his eldest children — Donald Trump Jr., Ivanka Trump and Eric Trump — and his company will begin in October of next year, CNN reported.

“For too long, powerful, wealthy people in this country have operated as if the rules do not apply to them,” the Trump-hating attorney general said in a statement. “With the help of his children and senior executives at the Trump Organization, Donald Trump falsely inflated his net worth by billions of dollars to unjustly enrich himself and cheat the system. In fact, the very foundation of his purported net worth is rooted in incredible fraud and illegality.”

James infamously declared while running for office in 2018 that she would go after Trump, calling him an “illegitimate president,” and boasted, “I’ve sued the Trump administration 76 times. But who’s counting?”

The news of the civil lawsuit trial date came on the heels of Manhattan District Attorney Alvin L. Bragg’s office trying to “jump-start” a criminal investigation against Trump by resurrecting the allegations with porn star Stormy Daniels — for the record, Trump has denied that he had any such relationship.

With Trump now an official 2024 presidential candidate, the resistance is whipping into overdrive to besmirch and otherwise demonize the former president.

In what prosecutors have referred to as the “zombie theory,” which The New York Times described as an idea of building a case around the hush money paid to Daniels, the Times cited sources with knowledge of the matter to report that Bragg’s office is “seeking to breathe new life into an inquiry that once seemed to have reached a dead end.”

Attorney General Merrick Garland is also appointing a special counsel to oversee a criminal investigation into the retention of documents at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort and the so-called January 6 insurrection — with the Republican Party taking control of the House in January, Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s politically motivated Jan. 6 select committee is destined for the trash heap.

Given the all-out assault by Democrats weaponizing their public offices to target a political opponent — with the media’s blessing — calling Trump the most persecuted man in America is putting it mildly.
