Oregon’s North Clackamas School District has decided to take the coward’s way out and move board meetings online after parents voiced outrage over LGBTQ+ content being taught in school as academic performance tanks.
A Department of Education report has evidently revealed that while woke, sexualized policies are being pushed in the classroom, students are not doing well in their academics.
On October 27 of this year, parents attended a school board meeting and complained about the school curriculum. They also accused the district of trying to keep parents in the dark over various issues, according to KATV.
“This district and the way it runs is a complete dumpster fire,” one father declared during the school board meeting. “Stop gaslighting us in your little newsletters saying everything is okay.”

Another father stated that “school choice and privatization of education” are on the way while others torched the board for allegedly creating division among students.
Parents were not happy about LGBTQ+ content that is being taught in the district’s schools. They aggressively pushed back against teaching about “gender-affirming care” and having “pornographic” books offered in school libraries.
Attendees claimed that their voices are being suppressed by the district. They also charged that taking the meetings online is an effort to ensure their concerns are not being heard.
According to KATV, one mother who is part of the LGBTQ community, stated, “It isn’t homophobic or transphobic to believe that children should not be sexualized or mutilated under the guise of the LGBT umbrella.”

“It is, however, homophobic, transphobic, and incredibly harmful to our community to presume all gay and trans people support that because the majority of us do not,” she asserted.
Parents called the board “bullies” for opposing their concerns.
One mother reported that board members were “rolling their eyes,” “laughing” and “using their phones” while parents spoke, according to KATV.
Board members shut down the meeting when one mother brought up the controversial Maia Kobabe book, “Gender Queer,” and showed a poster with explicit images from it.

“Okay, I think we’re gonna have to shut this down and go back online,” board member Jena Benologa proclaimed as she and other members walked out. The room exploded in protest.
Parents allegedly shouted, “You’re just afraid!” and “You have disrespected us!” Some of the parents stayed behind and delivered their grievances via live stream.
“We value public input during our board meetings, which is why we invite community members to sign up and address the board with their comments and concerns,” NCSD told Fox News Digital in an interview blaming the actions of parents at the October meeting for moving online. “The main responsibility of board members during that designated time on the agenda, whether the meeting is in-person or online, is to listen. It is not a venue for discussion, so they do not provide immediate feedback. This can be frustrating to speakers and may contribute to the perception that they are not being heard.”

The district claimed that the conduct of some audience members “prevented the board from conducting the meeting in an orderly manner, including the opportunity to hear further comments.” They cited concerns about safety and civility as the reason for taking the meetings virtual.
“Many of the parents who spoke on Oct. 27 and claim their voices are being silenced also commented during the online board meeting on Nov. 17. They were provided the same speaking opportunities afforded during every board meeting and that will continue whether meetings are held in person or hosted online,” the statement said.
