Ice Cube confirms he lost out on $9m movie deal ‘because I didn’t wanna get the motherf***ing jab’

Rapper Ice Cube confirmed reports that he lost out on a $9 million movie deal because he would not cave to the studio’s demand that he get vaccinated against COVID-19.

During an appearance on the “Million Dollaz Worth of Game” podcast, the 53-year-old actor and rapper told hosts Gillie Da King and Wallo267 that he lost out on the opportunity to star alongside Jack Black in Sony’s “Oh Hell No” because he wouldn’t get the “jab.”

“I turned down a movie because I didn’t wanna get the motherf*****g jab,” the actor born O’Shea Jackson, Sr. said. “I turned down $9 million because I didn’t want to get the jab. F*** that jab and f*** y’all for trying to make me get it.”

Reports began circulating in October 2021 that Ice Cube had exited the movie when the film’s producers requested all cast and crew get vaccinated ahead of the shoot but he did not comment on the news at the time.

Now, he’s dealing with the fallout.

“I don’t know how Hollywood feels about me right now,” Ice Cube said, alluding to his struggles since taking a stand. “I’m workin’ on it. I’m hustling’. Got a lot of things up my sleeve.”

Clarifying that he didn’t walk away after refusing the jab, but rather that the studio bumped him, Ice Cube is still upset with the pressure to medically conform during the “plandemic.”

“Those motherf–kers didn’t give it to me because I wouldn’t get the shot,” he complained. “I didn’t turn it down. They just didn’t give it to me.”

Ice Cube, a strong proponent of PPE during the pandemic, said he never contracted COVID, illustrating the vaccine was unnecessary for him.

“I didn’t need that sh-t,” he said. “Aint gonna take no sh-t I don’t need.”

Ice Cube was a strong mask advocate throughout the pandemic, releasing “Check Yo Self Before You Wreck Yo Self” t-shirts featuring him in a mask as a fundraiser to benefit frontline workers.

Twitter supported the rapper’s stance, championing personal choice in medical decisions even if Ice Cube lost $9 million.
