HHS urges the reimplementation of mask mandates to curb ‘Long Covid’, those who oppose are bigots

The Science™ is refusing to go out without a fight and nearly halfway through a propaganda-filled report on the vaguely defined “Long COVID” released Monday, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) once again opened the door for mask mandates skirting around the burden of facts and, in true woke fashion, accusing opponents of bigotry.

Maybe it’s because Elon Musk’s control of Twitter has seen progressive talking points get fact-checked or maybe it’s because “the experts” have grown weary keeping up with their science du jour to support policy decisions but, whatever the impetus, HHS has a new tactic to “encourage” dusting off widely abandoned mask usage.

In the circuitous scapegoating scheme embraced by public policy officials, those who based their draconian mandates on government “recommendations” may soon do so again based on an 88-page report produced by research agency Coforma at the behest of HHS on “Long COVID.”

Only after using the term “Long COVID” more than 80 times did the report offer a broad definition of it as “signs, symptoms, and conditions that continue or develop after initial COVID-19 or SARS-CoV-2 infection…present four weeks or more after the acute phase of infection; may be multisystemic; and may present with a relapsing-remitting pattern and progression or worsening over time, with the possibility of severe and life-threatening events even months or years after infection.”

Following the creation of this new marginalized victim class that could quite literally include the vast majority of the population, the report expressed how “Many people with Long COVID avoid public spaces and events due to a fear of reinfection and the potential worsening of their Long COVID symptoms and health impacts.”

“Some may experience PTSD symptoms as a result of trauma they incurred during their acute infection,” it went on before declaring, “The lifting of mask mandates and indifferent attitude toward masking and social distancing typical in many public and private places further isolates people with Long COVID.”

Thereafter, the report suggested negative critiques of the wishes of “Long COVID” sufferers was a form of discrimination as, “Some people with Long COVID experience hostile interactions and aggressive comments from others in public because of ableism, xenophobia, racism, ageism, the politicization of COVID-19, and a stigma toward people with some chronic illnesses.”

To combat the functionally undefined scourge of “Long COVID” and to assure those who dare to breathe unobstructed get back in line, the report offered, “Safe public space guidelines: Encourage or mandate policies and protocols regarding masking and social distancing in public spaces that protect people from infection or reinfection and possible Long COVID.”

Assistant Secretary for Health Rachel Levine argued, “Listening to and learning from the experiences of long COVID patients is essential to accelerating understanding and breakthroughs,” and that this new report is “evidence of our commitment to engaging communities to provide patient-led solutions.”

In case it wasn’t already clear that the federal government that waited until after the election to roll out their updated recommendations along with another push for boosters was pushing for a power grab, the report comes chockfull of language promoting entitlements to nudge compliance.

“Develop general accommodations standards,” read as a return to one-size-fits-all policies, “for various types of work and workplaces…breaking up the bottleneck of case-by-case modifications that delay the changes people with Long COVID need to continue working,” and “Offer additional financial assistance to current and former college students with Long COVID, including stipends for increased health care or boarding costs, as well as loan forgiveness for graduates,” were just some of the recommendations in the report.

While the zealots sounded off in lockstep agreement with the latest marching orders from on high, pushback came just as swiftly with some noting moves like this were precisely why states like Florida took legislative measures to combat COVID tyranny.
