Tulsi Gabbard uses 30-yr-old clip of Rush predicting Left’s cancel culture to explain her Dem exodus

If there is anyone in America who fully understands the cancel culture on the left it would be Tulsi Gabbard and the former Democratic congresswoman from Hawaii was the perfect choice to set up a 1993 clip from the late Rush Limbaugh predicting what is taking place today in American society.

In the nearly 30-year-old clip, Limbaugh is wearing a chest full of ribbons and he explains to his live audience how that makes him better than those not wearing ribbons.

“Because I’m wearing these ribbons, I care more than any of you about anything and these ribbons say so,” Rush explained. “I want you sitting at home and you people in the audience look down at your lapel right now. Do this — put the camera back on me — do this. When you look down, what do you see? You don’t see anything because you’re not wearing any ribbons. It means your a bigot, you’re a racist and it means you’re a sexist. It means you’re a homophobe and probably a white guy. I’m not because I’m wearing these ribbons. I care more than you.”

This being a dead ringer for the feigned moral self-righteousness that defines today’s sorely misguided left.

Gabbard, who was filling in for Fox News host Tucker Carlson on his highly rated prime time cable news program “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” would then equate Limbaugh’s nearly three-decade-old take to her own circumstances.

“One of the reasons why I left the Democratic Party is because as you can see, I wasn’t wearing the ribbons,” she said. “I was condemned for not wearing all the ribbons. The reality is, that even if you have 19 of the 20 ribbons, if you don’t have the last one then you are a cast out. You’re not welcome, you’re canceled, you’re done. There’s no end to this insanity. You continually have to prove yourself. It’s not even a question of tolerance and respect, live and let live. You have to be an advocate and a champion for their cause, whatever the cause of the day may be.”

“They’re trying to divide us,” Gabbard concluded. “They’re racializing everything, stoking anti-white racism and actively working to undermine our God-given freedoms that are enshrined in our Constitution. Rush Limbaugh’s prediction from 30 years ago is pointing to exactly where we are today.”
