Things did not go smoothly for President Joe Biden at Friday’s COP27 speech in Egypt where he was interrupted by protesters and struggled with his remarks.
As Biden laid out his vision for a greener America, protesters in the audience began howling. Their ploy worked as cameras and the attention of the audience quickly turned to them. From there, they unfurled a banner reading “People vs. Fossil Fuels.”

It’s unclear whether they knew they were at a conference with other like-minded people who are also looking to end dependency on fossil fuels. In any case, they were quickly dealt with and Biden was able to continue.
Unfortunately, the bizarre demonstration wasn’t the only thing the president had to contend with. At one point, he appeared to stumble over the words he was trying to read off of the teleprompter.
As an act of sheer human kindness, why don’t they run the teleprompter behind him on a big screen, and just let him stand there and wave.
