Stacey Abrams justifies trailing in the polls by suggesting black men are too stupid to back her

Despite a four-year media build-up after the 2018 election, Stacy Abrams’ 2022 gubernatorial redo in Georgia appears to be headed for a disastrous outcome and she already has her culprit named: Black men.

Trailing badly with recent polling showing her down by as much as double digits, Abrams’ campaign has failed to live up to the expectations of her allies in the media, as Georgians don’t appear to be that into the elitist left-wing ideologue, and the Democrat is already laying the groundwork to explain her expected defeat on Tuesday.

In addition to ignoring record voter turnout in the state by claiming that Gov. Brian Kemp and the GOP put in place “difficulties” to suppress voting, Abrams suggested in a Saturday appearance on MSNBC that black men are too stupid to know what’s important to them and what they want.

“Unfortunately, this year, black men have been a very targeted population for misinformation,” she said. “Not misinformation about what they want but about why they want what they deserve.”

Former Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, who now serves as the White House senior adviser for public engagement, backed Abrams’ slight of black men.

“There is definitely a target towards African-American men, not just to give them misinformation but to make them so discouraged that they won’t show up to vote,” Bottoms said Sunday on MSNBC.

News Nation reporter Zaid Jilani offered another possibility — a simple three-letter word, according to President Joe Biden: Jobs.

Jilani noted in a tweet that the economy “is motivating most voters,” this being a traditional factor in U.S. elections that seemed to take a strange hiatus in the 2020 election.

One thing is certain, insulting a key component of your base and justifying why you are going to lose is no way to make a closing argument to voters hours before they go to the polls.
