Fetterman claim that campaign sign was set ablaze met with skepticism: ‘The desperation is real’

In what may be the political “fail of the week,” hoodie-wearing Pennsylvania Lt. Gov. John Fetterman (D) appeared to add more fuel to his dumpster fire Senate campaign when he claimed on Saturday that one of his political signs was set ablaze in a deep red and rural area of the state.

Critics believe they’ve pinpointed the perpetrator as one of Fetterman’s own campaign lackeys after noticing that the tweet was conveniently accompanied by a well-timed snapshot of the burning sign that was less than half burnt and could still be clearly identified as Fetternan’s sign.

“This happened last night on a farm in deep red Lawrence County,” Fetterman alleged in his Twitter post despite the local media appearing to completely ignore the story.

“There is no place for violence and intimidation in politics,” he continued. “Our campaign is about bringing people together and rejecting hate + extremism. All Pennsylvanians should feel safe to show their political support.”

The struggling stroke patient used the alleged incident as an excuse to beg for more donations to his flailing campaign in a follow-up tweet that reeked of desperation and added more uncertainty to the veracity of the hate crime claim.

“If you agree + you stand with our campaign, will you please consider chipping in a few dollars today?” he wrote. “That you so much for your support.”

Fetterman was blasted for the post that was viewed as a hail mary after last week’s dismal debate performance against Republican challenger Dr. Mehmet Oz where Fetterman struggled to put a coherent sentence together.

“Lucky they were there with a camera right?” Attorney and Columnist Kurt Schlichter shot back.

Others were equally skeptical of the purported crime that was not supported nor confirmed by any immediate reports.

“They are losing and everyone sees what they are doing,” wrote podcast host Stephen L. Miller adding, “Just caught that one mid burn huh.”

Republican Advisor and Strategist Matt Wolking chimed in with, “This is a fiery but mostly peaceful protest (that you staged).”

Political Strategist Chris Barron was even more direct, reminding Fetterman “There are Oz signs ripped up and torn down EVERY single day. Your campaign should be talking to your own supporters rather than pushing this obvious hoax.”
