‘It’s happening’: Salivating media tricked by pranksters posing as fired Twitter employees

Billionaire Elon Musk’s long-awaited takeover of social media giant Twitter has generated much weeping and gnashing of teeth in a media that is terrified that free speech will be restored to the platform and the rush to portray laid-off employees as victims brought much embarrassment to some who were suckered by a pair of pranksters on Friday.

The SpaceX/Tesla CEO wasted little time in planting his flag at the San Francisco-based company’s headquarters, sending top brass packing including Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal, CFO Ned Segal and censorship queen Vijaya Gadde, the company’s head of legal policy, trust, and safety who was instrumental in the banning of former President Donald J. Trump and the quashing of the New York Post story on Hunter Biden’s laptop.

Reporters who camped out on the street to interview ousted workers pounced on the two dudes who were carrying boxes, with one identifying himself as Rahul Ligma – a popular internet meme – while holding a copy of Michelle Obama’s book “Becoming” and the other saying that his name was Daniel Johnson during their interview with members of the press who would soon come to the terrible realization that they’d been played.

“It’s happening,” tweeted CNBC’s Deirdre Bosa who interviewed the duo. Entire team of data engineers let go. These are two of them,” along with the hashtag #TwitterTakeover.

“They are visibly shaken. Daniel tells us he owns a Tesla and doesn’t know how he’s going to make payments,” Bosa added in another tweet.

In yet another tweet, Bosa wrote “fyi -some questions being raised about whether these are really twitter employees. Still trying to verify,” not realizing that the joke was on her.

Also suckered by the pranksters was Suzanne Phan, a reporter for ABC7 Bay Area who wrote in a since-deleted tweet, “LEAVING TWITTER: an employee leaving Twitter today. Says he was terminated during a zoom meeting. Doesn’t know where he is going to work next. Says he is going to spend time with his family.”

“I mean Michelle Obama wouldn’t have happened if Elon Musk owned Twitter,” said “Rahul Ligma” as he brandished a copy of the former first lady’s book. “Obama in 2008 wouldn’t have happened” if Twitter was under Musk’s control.

“You know, if free speech is you know, Nazis saying that, you know, trans women shouldn’t,  you know, shouldn’t use women’s locker rooms, then awesome I guess, mission accomplished, we’ll see” the other man told a reporter, “Listen, I gotta touch base with my husband and wife, I gotta get out of her alright, thank you guys,” he deadpanned.

Waves of ridicule rolled in on Twitter over how easily that it was to dupe the hapless reporters.

Few enjoyed the trickery more than the new Chief Twit.

“Ligma Johnson had it coming,” Musk tweeted.

The great leftist media freak out after Musk’s takeover has been a sight to behold and it will only get better if he restores the account of former President Donald J. Trump and others who were deplatformed by the lords of censorship who have now left the building.
