A homeless man came up with a brilliant solution to his problem, building his own home on a Hollywood sidewalk, rebuffing the Democrats’ temporary housing, saying it felt like a “concentration camp.”
The man goes by the name “Q.” The shed he calls home comes complete with electricity and some landscaping and it’s located on Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles.
Leftist politicians are now saying it’s got to go but the ingenious man built the home on wheels, so he just moved it a little further down on the sidewalk. It now sits on the corner of Hollywood Boulevard and Wilton Place, according to ABC7.

The shed is built out of old planks of wood from construction sites. It sits on top of car batteries. He figured out how to build it from do-it-yourself shows and calls it an upgrade from living in a tent which he was evicted from by city sanitation workers. It’s fully powered by a diesel generator which may soon be an issue as diesel is in short supply across the nation.
“The construction sites around the neighborhood – some of them put out old wood that they’ve finished cutting, so I go into the bins and get the old wood out,” Q explained.
Homeless tents, rusted RVs, and shanties are all over the city. Q’s home looks almost palatial by comparison. He even cleans the sidewalk around the shed.

Other homeless solutions in the City of Angels include a 10-man tent that features a running washing machine. Encampments sprawl from Hollywood Boulevard to Venice Beach. There’s even one next to City Hall.
Q originally comes from Kansas City. He has been in Los Angeles for a few years but has only been living in his sidewalk shed for a few months. He is an Army veteran and describes himself as “self-employed.” Q fixes bikes for locals. He dreams of being a mechanical engineer and starting his own business.
“There’s probably better places than this, but I don’t think I’m bothering anyone here,” the homeless man claimed.
“I feel good,” he said. “I feel like I’m, you know, kind of being an example for people that’s in my situation. Letting them know that just because you are living on the streets doesn’t mean that you have to just let go of everything.”

He had previously been offered temporary housing but turned it down. He prefers the home he built because it “empowers” him and says living in government housing would feel like a “concentration camp” to him.
Los Angeles police have spoken with Q about his home several times and have told him to move the structure. He moves the home on its wheels using dollies, but never very far. He’s unafraid of backlash from locals, the police, or politicians.
