Awkward doesn’t begin to describe the Manning brothers asking former President Obama about the upcoming midterm elections and they couldn’t quite hide the less-than-disinterested expressions on their faces as he blathered on about voting.

Peyton and Eli Manning had Obama on their alternative Monday Night Football Broadcast. It was apparent they either felt obligated to or were instructed to ask Obama about the upcoming midterm elections where Democrats are widely expected to get a shellacking for their horrific woke policies. The Super Bowl-winning brothers looked downright bored while listening to the former president.
Obama was the first guest on the show as the Chicago Bears played the New England Patriots on Monday night. He spoke with the brothers about their careers and their visit to the White House while he was president.
Then Peyton attempted to segue into the looming midterm elections. He asked Obama how Americans could register to vote in what was obviously a scripted exchange that was pushed for Obama to deliver a plug for voting. The former president wasn’t his usual smooth self and haltingly promoted his voting rights and awareness campaign.
“Mr. President, obviously we know the midterms are coming up here on November 8th, we know you’ve been busy out on the trails,” Peyton remarked in a manner that was not in line with his persona in the least. “We know how important it is to vote and have your voice heard. What can people do to register and find out more about the process?”

Obama stepped in at that point and assumed control which seemed extremely odd in itself.
“Listen, every election is important to a democracy,” Obama asserted. “And regardless of where you stand on the issues, you taking 15-20 minutes out to let your voice be heard makes a big difference.”
The Manning brothers dutifully nodded their heads as Obama blathered on about issues facing the nation… issues that Democrats have primarily created since President Biden has been in office. The brothers looked like they just wanted to watch football, not listen to a leftist politician give marching orders to his base.
“You’ve got all kinds of issues, from jobs to the economy, climate change; you name it, that is essentially on the ballot,” Obama lamely claimed. “Because you’re deciding who’s going to speak for you, and you should make sure that somebody cares about you.”
Peyton and Eli are learning that Obama gives long answers and its hard to cut him off…

Obama commented that he’s already voted.
“I voted last week,” he told the brothers. “Literally took me 10-15 minutes to vote. Michelle and I went in; it wasn’t a crowd because we have early voting in Illinois.”
“As we see in sports when teams are playing together, they can play better than if they were divided,” Obama nonsensically tried to state. “And obviously the country right now, sometimes people get sick and tired of politics because there’s so much yacking and bickering.”

He then compared political reporting to sports reporting and argued that the media is always looking for a negative story.
“Political reporting is a lot like sports reporting,” the former president said. “People are always looking for controversy and to stir stuff up cause that’s clickbait and attracts attention. Most people don’t think that way; people are just trying to figure out, ‘how do I do right by my family? On the job?’ And when we don’t participate, and we leave it to folks whose business it is to divide it.”
