The Democratic Party has finally settled on a response to 40-year-high inflation that is wrecking the budgets of American families: Claim it’s a global phenomenon and that inflation in the U.S. is lower than many other countries and count on voters being dumb enough to fall for word games.
Both of these strategies were on full display Sunday when Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., appeared on CBS News’s “Face the Nation” and said Democrats need to “change the subject” when voters bring up inflation — direction that quirky caught the attention of Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif.
“Nancy Pelosi wants to change the subject away from inflation. The American people deserve a change away from Democrats’ one-party rule,” McCarthy tweeted.

The “one-party rule” McCarthy speaks of began in 2020 when Democrats took control of the White House and both chambers of Congress — inflation was at 1.4 percent at the time and is now at 8.2 percent.
As for Pelosi’s exact words, she was asked by CBS News host Margaret Brennan about changing the momentum away from the GOP, who are poised to retake the House in less than three weeks, and the 82-year-old speaker mentioned inflation.
“The fact is, when I hear people talk about inflation… we have to change that subject. Inflation is a global phenomenon,” Pelosi said, before adding, “The fight is not about inflation, it’s about the cost of living.”

It’s not lost on American families having to choose between covering essentials like rent and gas and putting food on the table that inflation drives the cost of living, but Democrats apparently think people are too stupid to figure that out.
Count President Biden among that camp, as seen in a desperate tweet shared on Sunday claiming that Republicans “will crash the economy.”
Republican leaders have made it clear they will crash the economy by putting the United States in default unless we yield to their demand to cut Social Security and Medicare.
And that’s more than a promise. It’s a threat.

Inflation actually affects the cost of living. She’s the perfect Politician because no honest person can be a Politician and no Politician can be an honest person.

Pelosi hoping folks won’t focus in on how Democratic policies have caused these ruinous levels of inflation.

She’s wearing a 5k custom jacket as she tells Americans not to worry about inflation.
