A Texas grandmother wouldn’t let her funeral be a sad, mopey affair, and instead went viral for the hilarious way she chose to bid farewell to her friends and loved ones.
Jo Marie Perryman passed away on October 12, but even death couldn’t stop her contagious humor and unassailable wit. During her funeral on October 18, the woman had arranged to have cards distributed to those present.
The cards featured a picture of the elderly woman with two middle fingers in the air, and her tongue hanging out, but somehow that wasn’t even the wildest part! In addition to the zany pic, there was also a cut-out of an ouija board and a message saying “Let’s keep in touch!”
Perryman’s granddaughter Gracie posted the card, dubbing her late grandmother “an icon.”

The clever card has since gone viral, racking up over 72,000 retweets at the time of publishing, and Gracie wasn’t the only one loving her grandmother’s unique farewell.
The greatest funeral innovation since “Bury me loose”

I’m so sorry for your loss. My first reaction is that your grandma had a wonderful sense of humor, and her wanting to bring some light to the heaviness of grief is so sweet. 💗
