Triggered Biden tries to take a personal dig at Doocy for asking about priorities

President Joe Biden’s childish insult equivalent to “I know you are, but what am I?” as a response to queries from the press on his highest priorities left many baffled Wednesday, questioning whether the president really can “walk and chew gum at the same time.”

After dedicating much of a press briefing to the subject of abortion access, which has become a hot topic for Democrats leading up to the midterm elections, a Fox News reporter pressed the president to identify his top priority.

“Just to clarify for mid-term voters, top domestic issue: inflation or abortion,” Fox News reporter Peter Doocy asked.

Biden’s response left viewers and reporters scratching their heads at his odd choice of words.

“They’re all important. Unlike you, there’s no one thing,” Biden responded. “It crosses the board, domestic – ask me about foreign policy, too. There’s multiple, multiple, multiple issues…and we ought to be able to walk and chew gum at the same time, you know that old expression?”

Before the incident could escalate further, White House handlers interrupted the scolding and ended the briefing that was supposed to center on infrastructure law and new U.S. manufacturing efforts.

Fox News contributor Ben Domenech tweeted he believes the President was really saying “They’re all important, unlike you.”

Doocy had put the same question to White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre on Monday and she used the opportunity to blast the Supreme Court’s Dobbs decision overturning Roe v. Wade.

“The President is going to continue to talk about issues that matter to the American people, and abortion is one of them,” Jean-Pierre said. “A majority of the American people disagree with the decision that — that the Supreme Court made – the Dobbs decision. That is – a majority of the people disagreed with that.”

Jean-Pierre reiterated that while Biden cares about abortion access, the economy is his top concern.

“When it comes to the economy, the President has made it very, very clear. When it comes to inflation, it is the – his number-one economic priority, and he is doing everything that he can to make sure that we lower prices for the American people,” she said.

Biden’s apparent disregard and dislike of Doocy was brewing long before his childish equivalent to the “I know you are, but what am I” insult.

Earlier this year, the president was caught on a hot mic calling the bullish reporter “a stupid son of a b****” and Doocy has not shied away from holding the administration’s feet to the fire.

Biden has repeatedly demonstrated his intolerance of reporters challenging his decisions. On Wednesday, he snapped at the press after a query about the timing of the release of additional barrels of oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve.

“What is your response to Republicans who say you are only doing this SPR because… to help Democrats in the midterms?” asked a member of the press.

“Where have they been in the last four months?” Biden sniped. “That’s my response.”

Another reporter then jumped in, asking, “Is it politically motivated, sir… three weeks before the midterms?”

“No, it’s not! It’s not politically motivated at all,” the president said testily of his decision to release 15 million barrels.

“It’s motivated to make sure that I continue to push on what I’ve been pushing on, and that is making sure there’s enough oil that’s been pumped by the companies so that we have the ability to be able to produce enough gas that we need here at home, oil we need here at home, and at the same time, keep moving in the direction of providing for alternative energy. That’s what I’ve been doing,” he angrily added. “Now, the problem is these guys are asleep. I don’t know where they’ve been. And they seem — you know, the price at the pump should reflect what the price of a barrel of oil cost, and it’s not going down consistently.”
