Award-winning ABC journo investigating Biden VANISHES after FBI raid

Award-winning ABC News journalist James Gordon Meek, who was writing a book on President Biden’s withdrawal from Afghanistan, simply disappeared after the FBI raided his home, reportedly seizing classified documents.

The FBI raid on his apartment in April involved at least 10 “heavily armed” agents, occupying a number of unmarked vehicles, including an armored tactical vehicle that an eyewitness claimed could have easily been mistaken for a tank. The whole operation was estimated to have taken approximately 10 minutes.

Following the raid, the FBI said it was conducting “court-authorized law-enforcement activity” in the area.

The national security investigative producer hasn’t been seen for months since then and his apartment appears vacant according to neighbors.

Meek made his last post on social media just before 5 a.m. on April 27. He quoted a tweet concerning US intelligence gathering on Russian military operations, adding the comment, “FACTS.”

That tweet was in response to Marc Polymeropoulos, who is a former CIA agent. He had tweeted that the Ukrainian military was holding its own against Russian forces with the help of the US. Polymeropoulos was ostensibly responding to a tweet from Washington Post Pentagon reporter Dan Lamothe, who reported that the US was gathering a “bonanza of information” concerning the Russian military by observing the invasion.

Since that day, Meek has vanished, according to Rolling Stone. Within days following the post, heavily armed federal agents raided Meek’s Arlington, Virginia, penthouse apartment. Agents claim they found classified information on his computer during the raid, according to a report, which also quoted “sources familiar with the matter.”

Meek’s attorney, Eugene Gorokhov, has steadfastly denied allegations that Meek was in possession of classified material.

“Mr. Meek is unaware of what allegations anonymous sources are making about his possession of classified documents,” he stated. “If such documents exist, as claimed, this would be within the scope of his long career as an investigative journalist covering government wrongdoing.”

US Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco would have had to sign off for the raid to take place. A new policy prohibits federal prosecutors from seizing journalists’ records without authorization from the deputy attorney general.

A spokesperson for ABC News told Rolling Stone in an interview that their journalist “resigned very abruptly and hasn’t worked for us for months.”

Meek has broken a number of high-profile stories. He is not an unknown in the media business, especially in national security circles.

In 2017, he broke a big story on the Pentagon covering up the deaths of US servicemen in Niger, which later served as the basis for the Hulu documentary “3212 Un-Redacted.”

Brian Epstein, an ABC News investigative journalist who worked on “3212 Un-Redacted” also suddenly departed the network months before Meek did. Epstein refuses to comment on the story.

Another person who was not named and who worked on “3212 Un-Redacted” told Rolling Stone, “I just want to know what happened.”

“[Meek’s situation] is making me nervous. I’m just gonna deadbolt my door,” they allegedly stated.

Meek was also reportedly in the middle of writing a book with Lt. Col. Scott Mann for Simon & Schuster called, “Operation Pineapple Express: The Incredible Story of a Group of Americans Who Undertook One Last Mission and Honored a Promise in Afghanistan.”

Meek heavily promoted the book on social media but after the raid, the book-jacket photo displayed on his Twitter page suddenly went AWOL according to Rolling Stone. They are also claiming that Simon & Schuster removed Meek’s name from all press materials.

“In April, ABC News correspondent James Gordon Meek got an urgent call from a Special Forces operator serving overseas,” the book jacket once read. Now it reads, “In April, an urgent call was placed from a Special Forces operator serving overseas.”

Mann reportedly has no idea what happened to Meek.

“He contacted me in the spring, and was really distraught, and told me that he had some serious personal issues going on and that he needed to withdraw from the project,” Mann told the media outlet. He hasn’t heard from Meek since.

Journalists have been spooked by the raid and disappearance of Meek without a trace, which Rolling Stone makes abundantly clear, “Meek has been charged with no crime. But independent observers believe the raid is among the first — and quite possibly, the first — to be carried out on a journalist by the Biden administration.”

“He fell off the face of the Earth,” a former colleague told the news outlet. “And people asked, but no one knew the answer.”
