George Floyd’s gold-digging family looks for payday, sues Kanye West for $250M

The family of George Floyd has announced they are suing rapper Kanye West for $250 million after he exercised his freedom of speech and stated that he believed Floyd died of a drug overdose rather than from a cop kneeling on his neck.

The gold-digging family evidently sees dollar signs over all this and is looking to cash in on West’s millions in court. West claimed on the “Drink Champs” podcast that Floyd actually died as a result of a fentanyl overdose, not because a former police officer placed his knee on his neck for approximately eight minutes.

“Kanye’s comments are a repugnant attempt to discount George Floyd’s life and to profit from his inhumane death,” attorney Pat D. Dixon III proclaimed in a statement Tuesday. He also said the goal of the lawsuit was to “hold Mr. West accountable” for his “flagrant remarks.”

The family is not just going after the rapper. They are also going after West’s “business partners” and “associates.” They are asserting that the comments made by West resulted in “harassment, misappropriation, defamation, and infliction of emotional distress.”

Gianna Floyd is George Floyd’s daughter and is the sole beneficiary of the late drug addict’s so-called estate. She’s eight years old. Her mother and family are using the face of the child to push the lawsuit for a huge payday.

“The interests of the child are priority. George Floyd’s daughter is being retraumatized by Kanye West’s comments and he’s creating an unsafe and unhealthy environment for her,” attorney Nuru Witherspoon ridiculously claimed.

Again, she’s eight years old and Kanye West paid for her college tuition after her father passed.

The mother’s name is Roxie Washington. She retained the Witherspoon Law Group and Dixon & Dixon Attorneys at Law. They issued a cease and desist letter to West over his comments.

“Mr. Floyd’s cause of death is well-settled through evidence presented in courts of law during the criminal and civil trials that were the result of his untimely and horrific death. Nevertheless, you have maliciously made statements that are inaccurate and unfounded, causing damage to Mr. Floyd’s estate and his family,” the letter contends, according to Yahoo Entertainment.

West’s comments were made on the podcast while he was promoting conservative pundit Candace Owens’s documentary “The Greatest Lie Ever Sold: George Floyd and the Rise of BLM.”

“I watched the George Floyd documentary that Candace Owens put out. One of the things that his two roommates said was they want a tall guy like me, and the day that he died, he said a prayer for eight minutes,” West said on the podcast. “They hit [Floyd] with the fentanyl. If you look, the guy’s knee wasn’t even on his neck like that.”

The Hennepin County medical examiner’s office ruled Floyd’s death was a homicide caused by “cardiopulmonary arrest,” complicated by “restraint and neck compression” for eight minutes while he was being subdued by police. The autopsy report noted other “significant” conditions, including hypertensive heart disease, fentanyl intoxication, and recent methamphetamine use.

Former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin was eventually convicted of killing Floyd and sentenced to 22 years in prison.

Suing West is becoming a family affair. Floyd’s brother is also getting ready to sue the artist over his comments.

Civil rights attorney Lee Merritt, who represented Floyd’s family, smells blood in the water and sees dollar signs in the air, stating they are considering suing West for intentional infliction of emotional distress as a defamation lawsuit is not possible.

“George Floyd, just like Gianna said, changed the world so to have Kanye West come back and speak in a way that’s harmful to that legacy,” attorney Kay Harper Williams said, “I’m offended as a human, as a black woman, as a mother.”

“Gianna is a child and she’s being harmed,” she asserted.

“There’s a really important discussion right now around the country about speech,” Witherspoon noted, according to CNN. “But at the end of the day, you cannot say these things that are false.”

Many out there see this as an attempt at a massive payday for the gold-digging family and their attorneys. Not to mention censorship of free speech and blatant hypocrisy:
