Fallout over report that Jill Biden was livid at staffers over Joe’s ‘train wreck’ solo presser

First lady Jill Biden who is much more popular than her husband – unless it’s in Philadelphia – will be hitting the campaign trail to stump for Democrat candidates after a bombshell report that she was furious with White House officials for not giving Joe Biden the hook during a disastrous solo press conference.

GOP lawmakers reacted to The New York Times story that a livid Mrs. Biden ripped into a group of senior staffers over why the befuddled president was left to fend for himself during the January presser in which he responded to reporters’ questions for a marathon session that lasted nearly two hours, a rare Q & A where the risk of monumental gaffes grew by the minute.

According to the paper “She pointedly asked the group, which included the president, why nobody stepped in to stop it, according to a person who was in the room. Where was the person, she demanded, who was supposed to end the news conference?”

Fox News Digital caught up with several Republican members of Congress who had plenty to say about Mrs. Biden’s mini-eruption and the extraordinary degree to which the 46th president’s handlers have gone to shield him from questions that stray from the script.

“Apparently the First Lady knows a train wreck when she sees one,” Georgia Rep. Austin Scott, told the outlet in a statement.

“Scott told Fox News Digital in a statement. “I think everyone in the White House is concerned that the President will accidentally reveal the Biden-Harris administration’s true agenda.”

Dr. Jill’s reaction led Tennessee Sen. Marsha Blackburn to suggest that Biden is “not in control” of his own White House, a suspicion held by many astute observers of this most unusual of presidencies.

“The American people are watching the situation with the President very closely. So are other world leaders,” Blackburn said in a statement to Fox News Digital. “It is apparent he is not in control of the White House, his staff and the issues of the day.”

New York Rep. Elise Stefanik, the GOP Republican conference chairwoman added the “president of the United States should not need a babysitter when he talks to the media.”

“Apparently Joe Biden does,” she said.

“The American people put Joe Biden in office and deserve to hear directly from the president himself. Our country does not operate under surrogates in chief,” said Rep. Jeff Van Drew of New Jersey.

“If Joe Biden is not able to perform his duties as president and talk to the American people on a regular basis, then he should not be running the greatest country in the world. The American people deserve answers. Not from his staff, not from his press team but from the president of the United States,” Van Drew told Fox News Digital.

Rep. Ronny Jackson of Texas suggested that Mrs. Biden and the senior members of the West Wing staff of “running a coverup operation to protect their own self-interest,” also bringing up the geriatric gaffe machine’s cognitive state.

“Bravo to the staffer who exposed Joe Biden by confirming that he isn’t the one calling the shots in the White House. Nine months ago, the first lady unloaded on the White House staff for allowing her husband to humiliate himself at a solo press conference,” the outspoken Republican said. “We all know Joe Biden isn’t capable of making his own decisions and needs constant supervision,” Jackson said.

“This administration has practically turned the White House into an assisted-living facility. The fact that Jill Biden and the senior White House staff are running a cover-up operation to protect their own self-interest is dangerous for this country,” Rep. Jackson told Fox News Digital.

“As a physician to three U.S. presidents, I know firsthand what it takes, both mentally and physically, to perform the most demanding job in the world. America and its allies cannot continue to have a cognitively impaired puppet as our commander in chief and the leader of the free world,” he added. “Joe Biden is too far gone.”
