Bad news for Dems: New poll shows STAGGERING 93% of voters ‘concerned’ about inflation

Even liberal pollsters/media outlets are apparently delivering what appears to be unfavorable news to Democrats as November 8 approaches with the possibility, certainly with no guarantees, of a red wave.

According to a new Politico/Morning Consult poll, “Americans are expressing deep pessimism about the economy and rising inflation, a bad sign for Democrats as they head into the final decisive weeks of the 2022 midterm election campaign. More than 90 percent of voters are concerned about the U.S. economy and inflation,” Politico explained on Wednesday. “Party affiliation did matter when it came to ranking the economy a top issue impacting who they’ll vote for this November.”

Democrats have been pushing abortion on demand as a centerpiece of many of their political campaigns this season, but according to this data, if accurate, economic concerns are paramount. “When it comes to solving economic problems, a plurality of voters said they trust Republicans in Congress more than Democrats to handle them.”

These findings come not long after President Biden insisted during an ice cream run that the economy “is strong as hell,” although hell might be the key word.

Insofar as an overwhelming number of respondents with inflation worries, Politico revealed, “Of those, 71 percent of voters said they were ‘very concerned’ about inflation, an increase of 5 percentage points since August. Forty-two percent of respondents responded that economic issues, which includes jobs, taxes and unemployment, were their top priority when deciding who to vote for this November.”

(Another 22 percent were “somewhat concerned” about inflation.)

Even in this environment, in which “Seventy percent of voters believe the country is on the wrong track,” Politico claims that the two major U.S. political parties are tied in overall support.

“When it comes to voting this November, more than 80 percent of respondents said that the economy would play a major role in deciding who to vote for,” the news website asserted

The October 14 – 16 data was compiled from a survey of about 2,000 registered voters, a cohort that is generally not considered as reliable a metric as likely voters. The same data pegs Biden’s disapproval rating at a dismal 54 percent, which is consistent with trends over many months.

Most of the participants in the Politico/Morning Consult survey, 75 percent, indicated that the 40-year-record-high inflation rate was the result of corporate price gouging rather than Joe Biden and the authoritarian Democrats’ massive federal spending spree, along with the shutdown of America’s Trump-era energy independence, which has created pain at the pump and at the grocery store.

However, a lesser majority, i.e., “64 percent of voters blamed the Biden administration’s policies.”

By a nine-percent margin, Republicans are trusted more than Democrats to deal with inflation. “Republicans in Congress also won the trust of a plurality of voters in the poll on the economy and jobs, with 46 and 45 percent support respectively.” The GOP is also receiving inflation-handling support from 43 percent of Independents which could be decisive.

“The poll also found more voters trust Republicans than Democrats on…jobs (45% to 41%), immigration (47% to 40%) and crime (45% to 38%),” the New York Post added.

Democrats still have mail-in ballots, ballot harvesting, no photo ID in various jurisdictions, and other forms of so-called voter outreach going for them, however.
