In another ghastly example of the ongoing anarchy in Democrat-controlled, crime-infested Chicago, a masked man armed with a rifle allegedly carjacked a motorist on an expressway in broad daylight.
The disturbing encounter, which apparently started with a car accident, was filmed by another motorist and shared on Twitter and YouTube.
“Only in Chicago…look at that rifle; look at that clip…he’s hijacking the car right now…,” the animated guy filming the incident, among other things, declared.
He also briefly communicated with the rifleman as he drove by.
The motorist tried to encourage the victim of the carjacking in another lane to drive off. “Instead, the driver gets out, puts his hands in the air, and watches as the hijacker speeds off with their vehicle,” CWB Chicago reported.
At the end of the cell phone video, the motorist who recorded the whole thing says, “Oh my God; I’m shaking.”

“Video emerged on social media this weekend of a man carjacking a driver while armed with a rifle on an expressway near downtown Chicago. The footage shows three people running out of a car that was apparently involved in an auto accident along the outbound Dan Ryan Expressway just north of the Stevenson Expressway. Then one of them, wearing a black ski mask and toting a large weapon, tries to carjack passing vehicles,” CWB Chicago explained.
As of this writing, there are no reports of any arrests made in this incident.
Watch a purported longer version of the alleged carjacking (again, *Warning for language) in which the recording motorist seems to compare what happened to a live-action Grand Theft Auto video game.
Note: All suspects are presumed innocent until or unless they are convicted in a court of law of any alleged crimes.
Far-left Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot continues to seem oblivious to the crime epidemic, including rampant shootings every weekend, in her city, however, that is ruining the quality of life for her constituents and which is resulting in an exodus of businesses and individuals from the area.
“Chicago carjackings are on pace to rise again in 2022 after already dramatic increases in 2020 and 2021, trending towards a number that would be six times higher than just eight years ago,” Fox News reported in August.
“Chicago is on pace for 1,960 carjackings in 2022, according to data compiled by Wirepoints, blowing through the 1,848 record set just last year. The number would represent an over sixfold increase from 2014, when the city recorded 303 carjackings…Making matters worse, the data shows that 76% of carjackings in the city this year have been classified as ‘aggravated,’ meaning either a weapon was used during the crime or there was a victim present that was older than 60 or under 16 years old,” Fox News added.

In the meantime, the crime wave in Chicago and Illinois generally is likely going to get even worse, given that the state under pandering progressive Gov. J.B. Pritzker, who is seeking reelection in November, passed a law that takes effect in January and is equivalent to New York’s disastrous bail reform.
“Illinois under the ruling Democrats have pushed through the most permissive laws ending cash bail in the country…The Democrats are pushing that SAFE-T Act of theirs. It will let violent criminals out of jail and the people of Illinois are supposed to keep their mouths shut about that. If you dare say complain, Pritzker and the Illinois Democrat Party he’s bought, and the corporate legacy media in Illinois will call you a racist.,” former Chicago Tribune columnist John Kass warned Sunday on his blog.
