‘Dereliction of duty’: Kamala Harris on B-list late show uses Trump to hit softball border question

Vice President Kamala Harris was painful to watch as she appeared on “Late Night With Seth Meyers,” carping over Republicans busing illegal immigrants to her residence in Washinton, D.C., and then ridiculously blaming former President Trump for the border catastrophe.

The segment started off with a lame joke on emojis and the vice president engaged in rambling word salads as she usually does making it almost unwatchable. Meyers groveled before Harris and seemed far more interested in making her comfortable than hitting her with any substantive questioning. It looked like yet another instance of damage control and once again acted as a propaganda bullhorn for Harris.

Harris pointedly blasted Texas Governor Greg Abbott for sending busloads of migrants to her Naval Observatory residence, calling it “political theater.”

Myers asked her about how her life had changed and about her family before getting to the immigration issue. He asserted that “one of the downsides” of living at the Naval Observatory is her having to deal with the “political theater.”

“I don’t think that you know, playing games with people’s lives is the solution to this problem. But based on the record amount of arrests at the border, it is a problem,” Meyers added, “I think we look to our leaders at times like these. What is the path forward?”

“We’re talking about people who have fled great harm,” Harris asserted. “And they are coming here seeking refuge and… talk about political theater. I mean, playing games with people’s lives, with their lives. You know, there were mothers with sleeping babies getting off those buses. And I just think it’s an absolute dereliction of duty if you see a problem.”

Then she turned to the old tried and true pass-the-buck political move that Democrats are so fond of when it comes to the border or any other issue they have screwed up by blaming Trump. She also said Abbott’s response was a “dereliction of duty.”

“I just think it’s an absolute dereliction of duty,” Harris said. “If you see a problem and we agree that we need to address it, then if you’re a leader, participate in a solution.”

“When we first came into office, the first bill that we proposed was for a pathway for citizenship, which was to fix a broken immigration system, which was broken under the previous administration,” she commented.

The border crisis exploded when Biden came into office. Trump was containing it and making the situation arguably much better, no thanks to leftists. Blaming Trump at this point is not only detached from reality but borders on criminal. There have been a record number of arrests at the border this year, according to the Texas Tribune, and it is only getting worse.

Since Biden took office, the number of noncitizens arrested after illegally entering the country from Mexico has skyrocketed from below 50,000 per month to between 150,000 and 230,000 each month.

“Participate in the solution because we are offering solutions, but instead, this gamesmanship with real human beings who trust us,” Harris nonsensically stated alluding to untenable solutions that have never worked.

“It’s very haunting to watch human beings being used as props like that,” Meyers lamely responded before laughingly asking Harris how she can unwind from the daily pressure she feels from her job.

Her job is acting as the vice president and the border czar, neither of which she is evidently competent at performing.
