Vice President Kamala Harris has mastered the art of using a hundred words when ten would suffice. She’s also mastered the art of throwing them together in a way that leaves people trying to figure out exactly what she is saying.
During an appearance on “Late Night with Seth Meyers,” Harris discussed President Joe Biden’s recent declaration on marijuana, abortion and the importance of voting in the midterm elections.
But somewhere along the line, Harris dropped this gem:
KAMALA HARRIS: “When you see our kids, and I truly believe that they are our children, they are the children of our country, of our communities, I mean, our future is really bright if we prioritize them, and therefore prioritize the climate crisis.” pic.twitter.com/4NTK0wdIwF

“When you see our kids, and I truly believe that they are our children, they are the children of our country, of our communities, I mean, our future is really bright if we prioritize them, and therefore prioritize the climate crisis,” Harris said, confusing many and angering more.
Aside from the fact that it looks like she stuck that sentence in a blender and let it rip, social media takes issue with her use of “our kids”:
My kid is mine, not anyone else’s

My children are just that…mine. Not the community’s children. They are mine. I have the responsibility to raise them, not the state or the community.

They are MY kids. Step off.

…and if we prioritize the priorities they will be on a list that we will write but we have to remember to recycle the paper when we have completed or otherwise finished the items on the list because if we don’t finish then we will not have completed the tasks…
