Vice President Kamala Harris is hoofing it to a big-bucks Texas Democratic Party fundraiser in Austin, Texas but evidently won’t have time to visit the nearby southern border and Americans are not impressed.

Harris is set to headline the fundraiser less than five weeks before the midterm elections.
Texas GOP Rep. Tony Gonzales, whose district stretches from Del Rio to just outside El Paso, asserted that he hadn’t been made aware of any possible visits to his district by Harris during her trip, according to the New York Post.
“In a few days Vice President Harris is going to visit Texas, but she’s going to Austin to fundraise,” Gonzales noted.
“I don’t understand why the Vice President just won’t take an hour plane ride to the border and just listen, talk to people, just show up and say, ‘Hey, we are here to help.’ Just say, ‘The administration hasn’t abandoned you’ … something!” he exclaimed.
VP Harris is coming to Texas tomorrow for a fundraiser.
It’s not too late for her to add a stop at the border.

According to the New York Post, a Texas Democratic source also said they had no word of a planned border visit by Harris either.
“The only place ‘Border Czar’ VP Kamala Harris should be visiting in Texas is the disaster area formerly known as the US-Mexico border,” Texas GOP Rep. August Pfluger told the New York Post in an interview. “It is unbelievable that this administration has the gall to face the people of Texas who they have abandoned and ask for money.”
Fox News interviewed a number of people on the street in Austin, Texas, and asked them if the vice president should take the time to visit the border during her visit. Their answers did not bode well for Harris’ laissez-faire attitude towards the catastrophe that has exploded on the border.

“Absolutely she should,” one man named Mike asserted. “But will she? I highly doubt it.”
“Only if she thinks it would serve some good,” a leftist woman named Marcia said. “I’m sure she’s on a very busy schedule.”
“She should absolutely take the time to visit the border,” another man named David told Fox News. “There’s been a lot of dispute about the border. It would be worthwhile for the vice president to go and see what’s happening there.”
“She should definitely go to the border and see what’s going on there,” Arlene, from New York, commented. “If she sees it for her own eyes, maybe she’ll have a little better understanding of what’s really happening.”

“I know she’s very aware of what’s happening at the border. I know she would like to go to the border, and I hope she has time to go to the border,” another woman appropriately named Karen told Fox News.
Harris will speak at the LBJ Presidential Library on Saturday, covering abortion access. Then she’ll make time to give a speech at an elitist fundraiser for the Texas Democratic Party. The Texas Democratic Party’s Johnson-Jordan Reception is suggesting donations that range from $250 to $10,000.
Despite being literally a hop, skip, and jump from the border, she reportedly won’t be going there.

Harris hasn’t visited the border since June 2021 after she was tapped by President Biden to address the root causes of the immigration surge, which he ostensibly helped create.
The vice president declared that “the border is secure” during a September interview. Annual arrests along the border proceeded to pass 2 million for the first time that same month according to Fox News.
