Biden touts call with Coast Guard diver who saved lives in FL, but set to FIRE him for being unvaxxed

A U.S. Coast Guard rescue swimmer who President Biden personally lauded for his bravery during Hurricane Ian is set to be involuntarily discharged from the service.

Aviation Survival Technician Second Class Zach Loesch is a hero, but he has declined to take the COVID jab, which apparently is, in the end, all that matters to the mandate-obsessed Biden administration.

In a press release released on Friday, Biden touted his phone call to Lt. Commander Christopher Hooper and Loesch to thank them and their Coast Guard colleagues “for saving lives” during search-and-rescue operations in the disaster “and asked for a report on the work that continues to rescue Floridians.”

With regard to Loesch, Biden also noted that “I told him how proud of him I was and thanked him for all the work he and his Coasties are doing to save lives.”

Unfortunately, Loesch, who says he is devoted to his Coast Guard service, could be an ex-Coastie by Christmas or sooner. Authorities have denied his request for a religious accommodation. An appeal was also turned down.

In an article published on Saturday, Loesch told Breitbart News, “If I had asked any of the people I saved yesterday if they wanted to come with me even though I am unvaccinated, every single one of them would have said ‘yes.'”

His heroics included saving a disabled woman and her husband who were trapped in a bedroom. “Once they were freed, he went back to retrieve her wheelchair, securing it to his own body as he was hoisted up by a Coast Guard helicopter. Loesch also rescued several dogs and cats.”

Loesch explained that he had concluded that bringing up the vaccine mandate during the call with the president was inappropriate.

“It just sucks that he thanked me yet the vaccine mandate is what’s kicking me out. I just love my job and I’m really good at it. It sucks. I feel like this is the job that I was born to do,” he added.

In late September, Fox News reported that the Thomas More Society, a nonprofit national public interest law firm, filed a class-action lawsuit against the Coast Guard and other federal agencies on behalf of about 1,200 service members who were denied a religious accommodation allegedly with a boiler-plate rejection letter.

The denial rate is reportedly 99 percent.

“The White House proclaimed the pandemic is over, but as the Pentagon just reiterated, the purge continues, as they systematically drive out of the Coast Guard [and all branches of the military] the best and the brightest.” Attorney Steve Crampton told Fox News.

According to the Daily Mail, “As of September 2022, there are 2,632 unvaccinated members of the US Coast Guard.” The Navy has about 2,600 unvaccinated members.
