Retired CBP officer slams ‘pure hypocrisy’ on the left, says Trump unfairly vilified for listening to agents

One former U.S. Customs and Border Patrol officer is sounding off on the Democratic Party and its hypocritical response to illegal immigration.

Rosa Arellano, who was motivated by the biased coverage of former President Donald Trump’s campaign to leave the Democratic Party in 2016,  said the delivery of a handful of migrants to sanctuary cities and the subsequent response from the left-calling on FEMA to assist clearly illustrates how out of touch most politicians are.

Appearing on “Fox and Friends First” on Monday, the retired CBP officer said Trump was villainized when he pushed for funding for a protective barrier to stem the tide of illegal immigrants flooding the southern border.

“As you may all recall, the media immediately came down on him, along with Democratic leadership and called it a manufactured crisis,” she said. “So when I see these folks complaining about a handful of migrants being flown over to their areas and calling it a crisis, that’s pure hypocrisy on their behalf.”

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis put the moral superiority of the open border-peddling, woke left in check when 50 illegal aliens were airlifted to the island getaway of Martha’s Vineyard, Mass. under his direction. Rather than taking the political softball and knocking it out of the park by welcoming the illegals into their community as they so often demand others do, locals kicked the newcomers to the curb, declared a “humanitarian crisis,” and sent the aliens away while berating the right as uncaring.

“If they think this is a crisis, they should come check out the border,” said the Del Rio, Texas native, whose small community of 35,000 sees more than 1,000 illegal immigrants cross the border every day.

While acknowledging that the untenable situation on the border has been decades in the making, “passed down from administration to administration,” Arellano said Trump is the only president to have taken to heart the magnitude of the problem.

“Going back to President Trump, he was the first president in a long time that I recall actually came down to the border,” she told host Carley Shimkus. “I know at the beginning his intention was to push for a border wall spanning from sea to shining sea, but he came down, and he spoke to the subject-matter experts of Border Patrol and us, the CBP officers, he listened to us.”

Arellano said Trump left the discussions ready to implement the steps those on the ground identified as most helpful.

“He listened to us letting him know that we needed a multi-layer solution to this situation,” she said. “We mentioned that we needed physical barriers, strategic locations, we needed better infrastructure, we needed more boots on the ground and better technology. He listened to us, and he pointed it out to the country.”

For that Trump was mocked, ridiculed and terrorized, accused of exaggerating the problem southern states had been navigating alone, to further his ambitions, which was standard practice for mainstream media when it came to number 45. That same bias is what motivated Arellano to leave the Democratic Party.

“I saw what happened as soon as President Trump announced he was going to make a run for president,” she said of the media’s coverage of the Trump campaign and subsequent election. “I wasn’t hearing any good remarks from any of the major networks and that’s when I started to say, you know what, I need to look into this a little bit deeper. I ran into that clip where he made reference to some bad hombres, remember that one? I didn’t think much about it being racist, or what have you, because I worked as a CBP officer and I did encounter my fair share number of bad hombres.”
