House Dems block GOP effort to get documents on Hunter Biden’s shady foreign business dealings

Democrats may go on to lose control of the House of Representatives in the upcoming midterm elections but they are digging in and circling the wagons around their embattled leader Joe Biden and his corrupt, crack-smoking son Hunter.

On Tuesday, the House Oversight Committee thwarted a bid to pass a resolution requiring President Biden to turn over documents related to his family’s “international business schemes and related information” to Republicans who have vowed to get to the bottom of Hunter Biden’s dirty dealings if they win back the House in November.

Committee Democrats stuck together to defeat H.R. 1243 that called for the president to transmit to the House within 14 days “copies of any document, record, report, memo, correspondence or other communication in his possession” on his scoundrel son, his scheming brother Jim and his wife as well as Hunter’s domestic business partners, the tally was 23-19.

Oversight Committee Chair Rep. Carolyn Maloney – who was recently trounced in her New York City primary by Jerrold Nadler – urged her fellow Democrats to reject the resolution, saying that it “reveals the misplaced priorities of our Republican colleagues,” and, of course, it’s all about Trump. “These same Republicans turned a blind eye when Donald Trump incited a deadly riot in the Capitol, violating the peaceful transfer of power. And illegally removed highly classified presidential records from the White House.”

“This is a nakedly partisan effort,” Maloney said, making the excuse that “None of these people have a role in the Biden administration.”

Ranking committee member Rep. James Comer begged to differ, noting that Hunter and James Biden have been “influence peddling for decades,” stating that “we are investigating Hunter Biden because we fear that he has compromised Joe Biden, which is compromising our national security.”

“Oversight Republicans’ ongoing investigation has revealed the Biden family has peddled access to the highest levels of government to enrich themselves, and unfortunately, often to the detriment of U.S. interests,” the Kentucky Republican said. “It is time for President Biden to answer some questions about his participation in his family’s business schemes with some of our most significant adversaries for years, including the Chinese Communist Party.”

Rep. Clay Higgins of Louisiana, another committee Republican equated the Biden clan to a “criminal political family” whose story reads like fiction.

“Who would not want to read about the exploits of the grand, criminal political family, the Bidens?” Higgins asked. “Who would be surprised that from the loins of the big guy, Joe Biden, a fresh Democrat criminal would spring, Hunter Biden. We’re absolutely going to look into this stuff, we’re going to reveal it for the American people.”

Oversight Committee Republican Rep. Jody Hice of Georgia argued, “If there is nothing to fear with Hunter Biden, then there is no reason Democrats should refuse an investigation.”

“Whether Democrats care to admit it or not, there are serious concerns about the business dealings of the Biden family. There are serious concerns,” Hice said. “These get to whether our commander-in-chief, the president of the United States, have sought to enrich himself and his family at the expense of our national security.”

Democrats will continue to resist efforts to get the truth about Hunter Biden and the rest of the “criminal political family” but their resistance will be futile if the American people vote to turn the committee gavels over to Republicans in November.
