The left’s red hot fury over Republican governors relocating illegal immigrants to deep blue cities is being served up with a side of hypocrisy with no similar outrage being expressed toward the city of El Paso, which is run by Democrats and also sending busloads of migrants to New York City.
This week, the battle over the Biden regime’s open borders policies dramatically escalated after Florida Governor Ron DeSantis flew 50 people who are in the country illegally to Martha’s Vineyard, the tony oceanside resort town populated by rich, lily-white snobs who are overwhelmingly liberal, a masterful move that ignited a media firestorm and drew condemnation from the White House.
However, none of the weeping and gnashing of teeth from hypocritical politicians and their stooges in the media was directed at Oscar Leeser, the Democrat mayor of the border city that is the birthplace of one Robert Francis “Beto” O’Rourke, Texas gubernatorial candidate and poster boy for wealthy white privilege.
Fox News reporter Bill Melugin who has tirelessly worked to keep Americans updated on the border crisis recently took to Twitter to point out the double standards when it comes to Democrat-led El Paso and the Republican governors.
“The Democrat-led city of El Paso, TX has been sending its own buses of migrants to NYC, and just approved up to a $2 million contract for 16 months to bus even more migrants out of town. They are also requesting federal reimbursement,” he wrote. “El Paso, however, is not being criticized.”

“The City of El Paso will be spending up to $2 million in the next 16 months to bus migrants out of town and is counting on the Biden administration for reimbursement,” reported WETM-TV of Elmira, New York. “The city council on a 3-1 vote Monday ratified a new services contract with Gogo Charters LLC to “transport migrants to other cities as needed.” The city already disbursed $411,000 to this company, according to a presentation to the council.”
The city is also requesting federal reimbursement for the costs of the busing, according to a statement reported by KFOX 14 of El Paso.
“The travel costs for migrants are covered through FEMA’s emergency food and shelter grant on a reimbursement basis,” a statement from the city read. “The City/OEM submits for reimbursement on a quarterly basis as the process dictates,” the statement went on to read.”
On Saturday, Melugin posted an update on Twitter, “The Democrat-led city of El Paso, TX tells @FoxNews they have transported 2,365 migrants on 51 buses to New York City since August 23rd.”
“7 more buses heading to NYC left El Paso yesterday,” he wrote. “The city signed a contract worth up to $2 million w/ bus company to continue this.”

Texas Governor Greg Abbott has been under assault from Democrats and the media for his ongoing busing of illegal aliens to Washington D.C., Chicago and New York City, drawing howls of protest from the mayors of the Democrat-controlled sanctuary cities, all of whom have been vocal champions of open borders until the buses began arriving in their own backyards.
On Friday, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre likened DeSantis and Abbott to human smugglers in an extra passionately read hissy fit of lies.

“These vulnerable migrants were reportedly misled about where they were headed, told they would be headed to Boston, misled about what they would be provided when they arrived, promised shelter, refuge, benefits, and more,” she said. “These are the kinds of tactics we see from smugglers in places like Mexico and Guatemala. And for what? A photo op. Because these governors care about creating political theater, than creating actual solutions to help folks who are fleeing communism, to help children, to help families. Instead, they want to do political stunts.”
However, not a peep about Mayor Oscar Leeser of El Paso who is doing the exact same thing and sticking taxpayers with the bill.
