Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez lashed out at a Republican House colleague who mixed it up with environmental attorney Raya Salter, a fellow drama queen during a tense exchange at a Thursday hearing on the impending doom of climate change.
Seemingly seeing the loopy climate lawyer as a kindred spirit, the socialist diva blew a gasket over her grilling by Rep. Clay Higgins of Louisiana, a man whose constituents are seeing their economic wellbeing threatened by the ideological cult that currently rules in Washington, D.C.

Salter, another one of the wild “experts” brought in by Democrats to offer backing for their extremist agenda, melted down under pressure and couldn’t answer the simplest question from Higgins, instead demanding that he repent for petrochemical facilities in the Bayou State that she claimed are killing black people.
The veteran congressman’s lack of deference for the credentialed climate activist triggered AOC, who shamed Higgins and suggested that an apology to Salter was in order.
“I wanted to address Ms. Salter directly,” the New York City congresswoman began. “I just want you to know that in the 4 years that I’ve sat on this committee, I have never seen members of Congress — Republican or Democrat — disrespect a witness in the way that I have seen them disrespect you today.”
“I do not care what party they are in. I’ve never seen anything like that,” AOC said, laying it on thick for the cameras. “And for the gentleman of Louisiana, and the comfort that he felt in yelling at you like that, there’s more than one way to get a point across. Frankly, men who treat women like that in public, I fear how they treat them in private! We can be better than this. We don’t have to resort to yelling.”
Having succeeded in grabbing center stage, Ocasio-Cortez added that she hoped that, “someone would issue you an apology.”
“But because I don’t believe he will,” she huffed, “I want to apologize to you about the conduct of this committee and what we just witnessed. The people do not deserve to see that, and we deserve to put forward a better front.”
Salter took to Twitter to give Ocasio-Cortez a shout-out for having her back in defending her from her white male oppressor, “Thanks for the support! I’m unbothered by fossil fuel cronies!!!”

Seeking to set the record straight, Higgins posted his verbal jousting with Salter on Twitter.
“This is what Democrats support – total and immediate elimination of American oil and gas production. Watch my exchange with an unhinged climate activist from today’s @GOPoversight Committee hearing,” he wrote.

“You, sir, from Louisiana, to search your heart and understand why the EPA knows that toxic petrochemical facilities are some of the most toxic polluting facilities in the world and are killing black people throughout Louisiana…, ,” the “unhinged climate activist” raged. “So my first thing would to be, you to search your heart and ask your God what you are doing to the black, poor people in Louisiana.”
