Biden takes scripted bogus victory lap as DOW plunges by over 1,250 points, steps on his own jacket

The disconnect between reality and the regime’s narrative construct couldn’t have been clearer than on Tuesday when stocks plunged to the lowest level in two years as President Joe Biden was declaring victory over inflation in a heavily publicized White House speech.

Biden and the Democrats gathered to celebrate the passage of the Orwellian-named “Inflation Reduction Act” which was rammed through the Senate using reconciliation without a single GOP vote last month, a gargantuan Trojan Horse for the Green New Deal along with 87,000 new IRS agents who will be unleashed on America and which, despite its title, does virtually nothing to combat the worst inflation in four decades.

Hours prior to Biden’s victory lap, the latest economic numbers were released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics with August’s Consumer Price Index showing inflation at a crushing 8.3 percent despite the drop in gas prices – largely due to the tapping of the nation’s Strategic Petroleum Reserve – sending the Dow Jones Industrial Average and S&P 500 plummeting.

After Grammy Award-winning singer James Taylor’s rendition of his classic “Fire and Rain” – a song that ironically is about suicide – Biden took center stage, shedding his suit jacket in the 80 + degree heat and wearing his trademark sunglasses like a banana republic strongman directly out of central casting, Biden hailed the nonexistent victory over inflation, as the DOW dropped by over 1,250 points.

“And what a great day,” Biden said. “Exactly four weeks ago today, I signed the Inflation Reduction Act into law, the single most important legislation passed in the [this] Congress to combat inflation and one of the most significant laws in our nation’s history, in my view.”

“I said it then and I’ll keep saying it: With this law, the American people won and special interest lost,” he said. “Say it again: The American people won and special interest lost,” as the crowd showered him with applause.

“After all, this bill cut costs for families, helped reduce inflation at the kitchen table, because that’s what they look at — how much are their monthly bills and how much do they have to pay out for their necessities. And it gave them just a little more breathing room, as my dad would say,” Biden later added.

Biden’s gaslighting of more than a thousand people who were packed together in the early September heat on the South Lawn of the White House was punctuated when Dear Leader stepped on his own jacket, “Good thing my mom’s not around,” he quipped as he bent to pick it up.

Adding to the surreal nature of the afternoon, Biden’s Twitter account boasted about the great work that the White House has done on behalf of the American people.

“The Inflation Reduction Act is what it looks like when the government works for the people,” the tweet read. “And when we tell powerful special interests: No, you’re not going to get your way. Not this time. Not this year. Not now.”

But as has been well established by this reality-bending administration which recently changed the classic definition of what a recession is so as to not be blamed for the one that exists, there is no consideration even given to presenting the truth to the American people, no president in the nation’s history has brazenly lied as often as Biden.

Twitter reacted to the dispatch from Fantasyland with all of the mockery that it deserved, and then some.

Sticking with his demonization of the political opposition, Biden also trashed former President Donald J. Trump and GOP lawmakers.

“Ladies and gentlemen, the last guy who had this job — well, I won’t — let me put it this way: This bill finally delivers on a promise that I made to the American people for decades. But Republicans choose not to join us,” he said. “In the end, every single Republican voted against this historic law, so it fell to the Democrats to meet this moment and deliver for the American people, and that’s exactly what we did.”

Many Republicans warned that the legislative package wouldn’t adequately address the root of the problem and would only make it worse. Tuesday’s economic figures are an early indication that they are on the right side of history.
