Fox News host Mark Levin warned Sunday night about the modern ruling class and its manifest destiny towards totalitarianism, saying, “We have ceased to be a representative government.”
Levin suggested that “a handful of people” decide how we live today, as they force a laundry list of leftist fever dreams on the American people without their consent. He asked whether there was a majority of Americans in support of leftist policies that are pro-crime, anti-police, pro-transgender, anti-women’s sports, pro-illegal immigration, anti-border patrol, pro-massive debt, anti-energy independence, and pro-inflation.

“In between our elections, a lot happens to this country that is not subject to elections and no longer subject to representative government,” the Fox News host said on “Life, Liberty & Levin.”
Levin started his argument by quoting Professor William A. Jacobson of Cornell Law School.
“There is a thin line in society, between food and anarchy, freedom and repression, liberty and tyranny, safety and street violence. It’s thinner than we want to admit, and it’s being pushed to its limits on purpose by ideologues that want to deconstruct our society,” wrote Professor Jacobsen. “Tearing down society is a dangerous game.”
The professor also astutely observed that this thin line “is being obliterated in Europe, which put heavy reliance on Russian natural gas and ‘renewables,’ leaving those countries vulnerable to a gas cut off, which Putin now is implementing as retaliation for Ukraine sanctions.”
Levin surveyed the dangerous, outrageous ideas that have been implemented without any concern for representation or popular support.
“Did you support somehow, somewhere, or vote for open borders, where fentanyl and illegal immigrants and MS-13 and drug cartels can operate freely on our border creating anarchy, death, rape, all kinds of horrors taking place there?” he asked.
Levin argued that it goes beyond any traditional understanding of government policy. The Left has been busy shifting cultural norms so radically that they have made America increasingly unrecognizable.
“Did someone run for office saying they would destroy women’s sports, or you couldn’t define what a woman is?” he asked.
Who is making these decisions? It sure isn’t the people, according to Levin.
“We have ceased to be a representative government… the bureaucracy makes the decisions. Our prosecutors and the FBI make the decisions about who we’re going to select to run the Republican Party, as a perfect example. We’ve lost control of this country.”
Levin warned of the effects of a radical academy.
“We’ve lost control of our classrooms, where the most radical ideologues now have teaching degrees, tenure, protected by unions and the administrations. That is, the educational bureaucracy is not in control of your children’s minds. Where did that happen? Did somebody support that?”
He further warns that the mainstream media are almost uniformly radical.
Listening to the media, “Do you recognize your country?” asked Levin. “The way they yell at you? How they call you names? The way they discuss American history?”
The Sunday-night host warned of a growing police state where “free speech is limited, you’re now told what kind of language you can and cannot use or you’re going to be destroyed, have your career ruined.”
“Freedom of assembly” is also under attack, he claims. “You look at January 6, there are hundreds of thousands of people on the mall of Washington, D.C. – they’re now all called insurrectionists. You have tens of millions of Americans who are called semi-fascists… by the president of the United States and his party.”
Levin pointed to California as a case in point for radical leftism and its effects.
“What used to be the most prosperous, innovative, entrepreneur-friendly state in the country 20 years ago is now moving closer and closer to an economy akin to North Korea. They can’t put the lights on at night… They don’t have enough water. In other words, they don’t have the basics,” he said.
And that’s where Levin worries we are all headed, as other states and the federal government look to California as the progenitor of America’s future as a whole.
