The View’s new ‘conservative’ host attempts to walk a fine line concerning Trump… and falls off

Political commentator Alyssa Farah Griffin is joining “The View” as a so-called conservative Republican, claiming she wants to be the voice of Trump voters but in the same breath hypocritically asserting that the former president is semi-fascist.

Griffin said Monday that she has become one of Trump’s staunchest critics and she hopes he never returns to the White House.

“I’m a millennial and I worked in the Trump administration,” she said in an interview on ABC’s “Good Morning America.”

“I’ve also since criticized the former president, but I still want to be a voice for the 74 million Americans who voted for him, and kind of tell them, from my experience, here’s why I won’t support him again, but here’s what a future Republican Party can and should look like. So that’s really what I’m hoping to meet the audience with,” she said.

This is the same woman who Tuesday, on the Season 26 premiere of “The View,” stated that President Biden was right that Trump was semi-fascist but softened that brash statement by asserting many of his followers aren’t.

“I think Donald Trump is. I think the vast majority of his supporters are not,” she said, referring to Biden’s branding of MAGA Republicans as semi-fascist. “I think they are good people who want an economy that works for them. Who saw more money in their paycheck under Donald Trump. And my fear is this: I think Biden wants to be a uniter, but I don’t think that speech was uniting.”

Griffin held several key positions within the Trump administration, including Vice President Mike Pence’s press secretary, Pentagon press secretary, and White House communications director. She resigned in December 2020. Griffin has spoken out against former President Trump’s stolen 2020 presidential election accusations and has incessantly criticized him since he left office.

“As somebody who regrettably worked for Donald Trump, I do not want to see that man ever be president again,” she viciously remarked earlier this year.

Her rabid anti-Trumpness has caused her family to rip apart with her father skipping her wedding because of her hatred for the former president.

Leftists such as MSNBC’s Tiffany Cross also despise Griffin because she was once in Trump’s administration.

Tuesday, during the new season kickoff for the show, Griffin announced that Hillary and Chelsea Clinton would be among the guests this week to promote their docu-series. She fawned over Chelsea Clinton, calling her “fabulous” and added “as a Republican,” she was excited to question former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

“The View” has two token faux Republicans now. Griffen and Ana Navarro. Both sound far more liberal than conservative which is by design on the show. Navarro openly supports Biden and Democrats. She notably and tellingly worked for Biden’s Latino outreach in Florida in 2020.

“There’s a whole host of nuance in between both of the parties,” Griffin said regarding her and Navarro. Both are unsurprisingly CNN commentators as well.

Griffin has made many guest appearances on “The View.” She follows former so-called conservative co-host Meghan McCain quitting the show in July, citing a toxic work environment and mistreatment by her radical leftist co-hosts, especially Joy Behar.

The newly anointed co-host is far more accommodating of her liberal comrades than McCain was.

Griffin claims to be a national security conservative which does not track well at all given her previous voiced stances.

“As a Republican, the table skews to the left. I’m not going in trying to change everyone’s mind,” she stated on the show Monday. “Merely to show the other viewpoint, show how nearly half the country sees some of these issues.”

Whether Griffin actually does that is another matter altogether as she does not seem to comprehend what the “other viewpoint” really is.

Leftists weren’t interested in Griffin’s precarious take:

Nor did she seem to appeal to people on the right:
