President Joe Biden hit the campaign trail on Labor Day, headlining rallies in two key battleground states as he continued his attacks on the tens of millions of Americans who didn’t vote for him in the last election and deflecting the blame for his ruinous economic policies.
During one of these stops, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the divider-in-chief assailed “Trumpies” as he sought to energize union members whose votes will play a big role in whether the Democrats will be able to expand their Senate majority in the upcoming midterms. But it was his remark that the worst inflation in four decades was due to the high cost of automobiles and a shortage of the computer chips that are necessary to produce them that especially sparked criticism.
“By the way, the reason why last time out, last year inflation was so high,” he said. “You know the biggest reason? The cost of automobiles.”
“You know why they cost so much?” Biden asked. “They didn’t have the computer chips to make the automobile.”

Biden’s malarkey drew an incredulous response from Twitter users.
Good thing they could still sell them for such high prices without those darn chips, at least

You hear that America. Biden says inflation is high because of computer chips? I haven’t heard that one before! I’ll give him a solid “B” for creativity though. https://t.co/KKmIReRo0J

Please explain how this relates to food prices being so high.

So this is why the cost of a 10 year old Honda Civic is $20K? Because of the chip shortage today!
— Julia (@SvetlanaShepard) September 5, 2022
Completely false, but let’s assume it’s true just for the sake of discussion.
Why would you trust these people to manage ANY aspect of the economy, if they couldn’t deduce “computers are important” until after the economy crashed??!?

Fact checkers?

EV’s cost $80k. They’ll make nice fern planters in California who is apparently out of electricity.

Chip shortages have been an issue for awhile now in a lot of industries, but claiming that’s the biggest reason for inflation being high is old Eddie Murphy level comedy.

This is why there is a 25th Amendment.

So now it’s automobiles and not Putin? I’m confused. Can we an inflation chart from the White House with all of his reasons?
— 🇺🇸 Bring Back Mean Tweets 🇺🇸 #1776 (@2APewPew) September 5, 2022
But didn’t he say there was no inflation? I’m so confused.

Just last month, Biden claimed that there was “zero inflation” in July – a triple-decker whopper – after the monthly CPI showed inflation holding steady at 8.5 percent, a blatant lie from the head of the same administration that had already changed the classic definition of what a recession was so as not to be blamed for it.

Biden also patted himself on the back for a new law to bolster the production of computer chips domestically.
“I also signed the CHIPS and Science Act, a groundbreaking law,” he said. “We’ll once again manufacture semiconductor chips that power every day — everything — our smartphones, dishwashers, automobiles, national security stuff — right here in America.”
