Internet celebrity, frozen pizza critic and founder of Barstool Sports, Dave Portnoy, launched a counterstrike against Jason Whitlock Tuesday, the noted sports journalist and podcaster who last week planted a public smackdown on Portnoy, calling him a “fraud” of masculinity.
“Dave Portnoy and Andrew Tate are the Al Capone and Lucky Lucciano of masculinity prohibition. Portnoy and Tate bootleg moonshine masculinity across the Internet,” Whitlock wrote in a piece for Blaze Media, where he also hosts his own show “Fearless with Jason Whitlock.”
Whitlock continued, “Portnoy built a sports media empire pretending to be a fearless ESPN disruptor standing against the wokefication of sports and American culture. It’s now clear he’s a total fraud and sellout.”
“If we weren’t living in an era completely hostile to masculinity, Portnoy would be broke in Boston delivering pizza. The prohibition of masculinity is what made heroes and millionaires of men like Portnoy and Tate,” he tweeted.
Dave Portnoy, El Presidente, is a fraud. He has no redeeming qualities other than his wealth. Remove his money, and he wouldn’t have a friend in this world. On Tuesday’s edition of “The Dave Portnoy Show With Eddie & Co,” co-host Eddie Farrer teed up Portnoy for a retort.
“Whitlock is so far below me. In every facet of life. It’s like who cares? I mean, he really is. I’m more successful. I’m smarter. I’m funnier. I make more money. I’m not fat. I mean, no offense,” Portnoy’s sophisticated defense began.
“I just — what is the point of me even engaging? And he’s a troll… maybe the biggest ringing indictment of guys like him, like if I decided I wanted to have no morals like he does, and just try to build my career on inciting political people, I’d be the biggest thing of all time. It’s the easiest thing to do. He’s trying to do it. He’s just, so unfunny.”
“I actually disagree with that,” Farrer genuflected. “Cause I think you’ve done a better job just like coming together with people who are normal, where like, I think there’s a cap on the people who are just psycho and insane. Like you could definitely get big. You could get very big clearly.”
“No, you can be huge. You can go to the moon,” Portnoy opined.
Ever the hype-man, Farrer asked Portnoy what personalities might be a great example of meteoric success, to which he replied, “Tucker Carlson.”
“Do you think you’re bigger than Tucker?” Farrer asked.
“No,” Portnoy admitted.
Just one day before Whitlock called out the Barstool Sports founder, comedian Alex Stein posted a clip of a Las Vegas City Council meeting he attended, during which he beseeched the council to stop making it so easy for people like him to get drunk and gamble in Sin City.
Barstool Sports posted the video to their Twitter page, but then deleted it when their collectively slow-moving synapses finally realized Stein’s diatribe was satirical.
“It’s so cute that @barstoolsports is owned by @stoolpresidente who is accused of the most heinous things, but they are too afraid to keep my content up,” Stein tweeted.
“Buddy shut the f*** up. We are owned by a gambling company. We’ve had roughly 9,000 training sessions not to post sh*t like this cause regulators don’t like it… Go back to whatever hole you crawled out of,” Portnoy fired back.

Considering inflation, rampant crime, the sexualizing of children, a wide-open border facilitating record deaths from fentanyl overdoses, and the continuing controversy over the efficacy of COVID vaccines, perhaps a little laughter is the best medicine.
It seems to be all we’ve got.
