Dr Siegel takes ‘safety’ off the table as he laments lack of vax compliance, wants more ‘testing in humans’

Fox News medical contributor Dr. Marc Siegel joined Martha McCallum on “The Story” Monday to offer his take on COVID vaccines as another school year begins.

Seemingly stuck in the past and wishing for more compliance from the masses, Siegel tried to make the case that COVID vaccines are intrinsically safe for everyone.

“I want to reassure people that I don’t think safety is an issue here,” he began. “My patients are already saying, ‘wait a minute,’ these are only tested in animals and mice, but the flu vaccine every year that we tweak, the new version of it is only tested in animals first. That’s something we do all the time.”

“I don’t think safety is really the issue, ” Siegel reiterated.

“The issue is how much ‘Umphff’ are you going to get out of this vaccine that targets the BA-5 subvariants specifically?”

“The answer is we don’t know how much ‘Umphff.'”

A high-brow scientific argument to be sure.

He continued, “We don’t know how much additional coverage it will give you. The original vaccine already, Martha, decreases your risk of hospitalization, decreases your risk of death, especially if you’ve had prior COVID and you had both COVID and the vaccine, you’re already in good shape.”

Then what exactly are we talking about?

“I’ll tell you where I think it’s really valuable, this vaccine, and where I’m going to use it,” Siegel prefaced his sales pitch.

“For people who have been sitting on the fence for a while, saying, ‘I don’t want to get that third shot, or ‘I don’t want to get a fourth shot.’ I’m not thinking so much about the people that are looking for a fifth shot. Here’s the issue: We’ve had a diminishing law of return here. Only half of the people who got the original vaccine got boosted, and only 25 million got a fourth shot.”

He stressed, “That third shot decreases the risk of hospitalization. So, if I can use this as a sales pitch to get more people to take a vaccine, I’m going to do it. I want to see more testing in humans. That will help me.”

“I wish they had done that already. They’ve been too slow.”

Is there a quantifiable lack of testing anywhere that we know of?

Siegel concluded, “So over the months to come, I’m going to be able convince more people to take it. We got a problem with vaccine compliance, and this isn’t going to solve it.”

MacCallum closed by saying, “All right. I think everybody should talk to their doctor and see what is right for them based on what their personal history is, their health history, as you say.”

Except that he didn’t say that. He only pushed for more testing and vaccine compliance. Watch the above clip and decide for yourself.
