Where’s Kamala? Low-profile Harris hangs in Hawaii for hiking and photo ops

Vice President Kamala Harris kicked back in Hawaii with her husband Doug Emhoff for over a week as President Biden signed a massive spending bill and forgave billions more in student loan debt.

She was thousands of miles away as Biden made history by signing a bill that further bankrupts the nation in the name of climate change. Then he went on to capitulate to his radical leftist base, forgiving $300 billion in federal student loan debt and potentially wiping the financial slate clean for 20 million Americans.

Harris and hubby arrived in Hawaii on Aug. 15 according to the New York Post, the day before Biden signed the Inflation Reduction Act into law which will spend $437 billion on environmental and healthcare programs and will, in part, be financed by thuggish collection actions by a weaponized IRS as $80 billion is being spent on the agency to expand it.

The president was surrounded by powerful congressional Democrats, including House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), and moderate Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV). But Harris was instead sunning in Hawaii and visiting a farmers market, evidently oblivious to being politically undercut and left out of the progressive celebration.

The same occurred as Biden announced the obscene student loan forgiveness plan. Education Secretary Miguel Cardona stood with the president for his remarks, but Harris was not invited to the party.

On Wednesday, Biden announced his administration would forgive $10,000 in federal student debt for those making under $125,000 and $20,000 for Pell Grant recipients making under $125,000. The total forgiven is potentially somewhere between $300 and $500 billion according to various reports.

“Federal student loan debt has weighed heavily on our nation, preventing people from starting a family, buying a home, or starting a small business. Today, @POTUS announced our Administration will cancel $10,000 in federal student loan debt for millions of Americans,” Harris wrote on Twitter while in Hawaii.

The unannounced Hawaii trip came as a surprise to many following Harris enjoying a quiet weekend at her home in Brentwood, California. She was last seen in public at an event held on Aug. 12 in Oakland, where she spoke about the future of the US space program. Since then, her calendar has allegedly been empty.

The power couple apparently took the trip over their eight-year wedding anniversary. Second Husband Emhoff posted a shot to Instagram celebrating their eight years of marriage on Monday.

The media is not commenting on Harris’ absence from Biden’s basking in the left’s adulation as he drives the country straight off a cliff economically. She is set to fly back to DC on Friday.

TMZ seemed to be one of only a few media outlets that actually reported on Harris’ vacation, posting a video of her hiking in Haena State Park on the island of Kaua’i.

There was a smattering of pictures posted to social media of Harris in Hawaii as well.

Rumors are still flying that Biden is sidelining Harris and that there is a major rift between the president and the vice president.
