Actress Nicole Kidman has the social media beehive buzzing over a new magazine cover showing her as she’s never been seen before, musclebound and flexing in a pose that drew praise and derision.
In the image which was photographed by Zhong Lin. the 55-year-old Aussie superstar is wearing a red wig, a micro-mini Diesel skirt, and pieces by designer Glenn Martens, flexing her biceps and appearing far younger than her age while looking like she’s ready to rumble in an action movie.
When the pics first hit Instagram they immediately went viral with Kidman’s friends and fans expressing their approval, “Wowza, all of these pics! And those abs, Nic!” wrote fellow Australian actress Naomi Watts.
“Wow!!!!”‘ exclaimed actress Kerry Washington, adding a trio of heart-eyes emojis. Also approving were other Hollywood A-listers including Rita Wilson and Jennifer Aniston who posted their approval.
“Gorgeous photos!” Wilson wrote.

Kidman’s fans also swarmed Instagram to express their approval.
“Woo hoo f**k those who say “act your age”. You are just getting cooler,” wrote one user.
Another wrote, “I need to see her in a MAJOR Sci fi film now!”
“Hands down the best work she’s done,” wrote another Instagram user.
The love spilled over onto Twitter as well.

Did Nicole Kidman reshuffle her beauty and fitness squad or something because she has been looking GOOD, even since that cover she and MJ Rodriguez were on. Even the Botox face looks softer

However, not everyone was as impressed.
“Amazing what airbrushing and makeup can do,” one Instagram user wrote.
“What the hell is up with her hair? It looks like something a three year old would do to themselves if they got a hold of a pair of scissors,” another critic said.
“She is amazing, inside and out, but it’s obvious that the image in question has been Photoshopped heavily. I’m sure she’s shredded, but c’mon now,” another wrote, expressing skepticism that the picture wasn’t altered.
“Filters, surgery etc. Don’t pretend that she is ageing naturally,” said another.
In a Daily Mail column, writer Antonia Hoyle calls out critics, saying that Kidman is “helping to redefine femininity” and “we must stop fit-shaming women like these for having muscles.”
“She joins an ever-growing number of older celebrity women who can boast beautifully sculpted arms, among them Jennifer Lopez, 53, Charlize Theron, 47, Halle Berry, 56, and Spain’s Queen Letizia, 49,” she notes.
“Flexing her biceps while flashing the tautest of tummies in a micro mini skirt and halter-neck top, Oscar-winner Nicole stares unapologetically into the lens,” Hoyle wrote. “As well she should. Because having a body that toned is not only emblematic of physical prowess, but mental fortitude. It’s a two fingers up to societal expectations that still, even in 2022, state that women should be devoid of any body definition that might ruffle the patriarchy.”
Kidman’s stellar career has spanned over three decades since her breakthrough in the 1989 thriller “Dead Calm” hitting a high water mark when she scored the Best Actress at the 2003 Oscars for her role in “The Hours.” She has also appeared in “Batman Forever,” “Destroyer,” “Eyes Wide Shut” and as legendary comedienne Lucille Ball in “Being the Ricardos.”
