Who’s intolerant? Poll shows nearly two out of three college Dems would not have a pro-Trump roommate

The vast majority of college students who subscribe to the party of alleged “tolerance” and “inclusion” are too intolerant to board with a Trump-supporting Republican, according to a new NBC News poll.

Specifically, a 62 percent majority of college Democrats part of the class of 2025 wouldn’t be willing to live with a Trump supporter. Conversely, only 28 percent of college Republicans wouldn’t be willing to live with a Biden supporter.

Asked why she wouldn’t be willing to board with a Trump supporter, 18-year-old September Mostransky of Siena College said, “I could never live with someone who supported a racist, homophobic, xenophobic and sexist person.”

Sounds about as tolerant as this:

“I could possibly room with somebody who is Republican. But when it comes down to it, Donald Trump is not the average Republican candidate,” Mostransky added.

In contrast, when asked why he would be willing to board with a Biden supporter, 19-year-old Ethan Strohmetz of the Catholic University of America said, “A person’s political views do not affect whether or not I would have a friendship or relationship with them. Many of my friends have vastly different political views than I do, but I do not let that affect our friendship.”

How genuinely tolerant and inclusive.

The NBC News poll also found that 53 percent of college wouldn’t date someone who “supported the opposing presidential candidate” in the 2020 race. But for some reason, this time the poll didn’t delineate between Republican and Democrat respondents. It’s not clear why.

Overall, the poll points to a highly polarized America. Though in contradiction to the narratives told by the media, it appears this polarization is being driven primarily by members of the left.

It’s not a majority of Republicans who outright hate Democrats so much that they can’t tolerate their presence — it’s the exact opposite, it seems.

This comes as no surprise to those keenly aware of how the left functions:

The fact is that the left excels at projecting its own prejudices, hatred, and corruption onto others.

Speaking on “Jesse Watters Primetime” this Friday, Victor Davis Hanson of the Hoover Institution provided example after example of this phenomenon.

“The left projects. So if Christopher Steele … a Clinton operative, they draw on Russian sources to smear Donald Trump, and then they call it Trump collusion. … I mean, nobody on the right said let’s junk the 233-year-old Electoral College; [the] 180-year-old filibuster; the 150-year-old, nine-person Supreme Court. Nobody [on the right] said let’s bring in two more states and end the idea for 60 years of a 50-state union,” he said.

“And then when you look at what they’ve actually done … nobody in the Republican Party ever tore up the State of the Union address on national TV like Nancy Pelosi. No speaker of the House. Not Newt Gingrich. Not anybody else. And they never said you can’t have these people on committees. That was a revolutionary thing to do in the House.”

Yet to hear Democrats and their media allies tell it, Republicans are the ones full of hate, intolerance, and disregard for norms. Especially former President Donald Trump.

“It’s easy to say Trump is a fascist or Trump did this. … But did Donald Trump ever try to weaponize the IRS in Lois Lerner fashion? Did he take the FBI and use it to go after Joe Biden’s residence when he was president?” Hanson continued.

“Did they go into the DOJ and have the collusion hoax? Did any of these people who worked for Trump lie four times to a federal investigator like the [disgraced former] FBI [Deputy] Director Andrew McCabe [did]?”

Similarly, do you see anyone on the right suggesting that Democrats are worse than cartels and terrorist organizations that torture people to death?

Do you see Republicans accusing Democrats of being a threat to democracy? Do you see Republicans calling for Democrats to be “deprogrammed?” Do you see Republicans accusing an entire race of being bad?

Earlier this month, an MSNBC contributor accused Republicans of being fascists who want to “literally dismantle the Constitution.” Yet just this week, the left-wing New York Times published an opinion piece essentially calling for the U.S. Constitution to be jettisoned.

So who again truly are the radical ones, the hateful ones, the intolerant ones? The evidence suggests it’s certainly not the Republicans …
