Kids throughout the country — but mainly in blue cities and states — are still being forced to mask up, despite the COVID pandemic effectively being over.
In Los Angeles, for instance, kids were spotted this weekend involuntarily masked up while playing basketball inside a city operated basketball court.
According to LA Uprising, a local group that’s been fighting back against draconian COVID restrictions, the kids were forced to mask up because of the city’s policies.
“Right now, in West LA, kids are forced to mask while playing basketball because @LACityParks is still under the City’s mask mandates that were rescinded for private businesses in April. Inexcusable and example #1032 of how LA continues to treat kids the worst,” the group tweeted Saturday.
The tweet included a photo of the masked-up kids.

And this despite a separate rule saying that kids over the age of 12 must prove that they’ve been vaccinated before they may enter the facility.
In a statement to Fox News, LA Uprising’s anonymous founder called the COVID mask mandate absurd.
“Obviously, at this point, there’s no excuses anymore. You know, everyone has access to vaccines. Everyone can do it. Everyone’s caught in this. At this point, it’s just completely out of alignment,” he said.
“And no one in this city has ever fought for kids or said, ‘Hey, let’s make sure we get this in alignment for them. Let’s make sure that teens and kids this end of summer and fall don’t have to deal with restrictions if they don’t need to.’
The founder added, “But no one ever speaks up for the kids, certainly out of public health and certainly not in the city. They’ve never done that. They’ve never looked out for the kids. Never.”
Critics say forcing kids to mask up while engaging in physical activity is outright dangerous.
“I would say it’s dangerous to have kids in physical activity, excessive exertion like basketball, to be in masks. And frankly, you know, we talk about mask choice and allowing people to make decisions for them and their families,” Jonathan Zachreson, the founder of Reopen California Schools, told Fox News.
It’s not just Los Angeles where kids are still being forced to mask up. Over in the San Francisco suburb of Mountain View, a 4-year-old child was recently kicked out of his kindergarten class by a campus cop for refusing to mask up.
“The 4-year-old boy’s father said his son finds face masks particularly uncomfortable. When he started transitional kindergarten last week, the boy came home crying about his teacher trying to get him to wear a mask, the father said,” according to The Mercury News.
“‘He was inconsolable,’ said the boy’s father, who attempted on multiple days to have his son admitted to class without a mask. After school officials said they couldn’t make an exception and would send the boy home if he kept refusing a mask, his father recorded what happened at his son’s next trip to school.”
Watch:
“In the video, a woman identified as Theuerkauf Elementary Principal Michelle Williams offers the boy a mask as he runs past her to class. Williams tells his father ‘I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again, I want him here but it is our district’s policy that students have to wear a mask,'” The Mercury news notes.
“After the boy is escorted from the classroom, Williams tells his father ‘I cannot keep spending time on this same issue. … I’m going to have to have you removed from campus if you don’t leave at this time.’ A campus police officer then speaks with him, and after a cordial discussion the father leaves.”
Over in Philadelphia meanwhile, kids in kindergarten are required to mask up all year, while kids in higher grades must only mask up for the first 10 days of school.
“The School District of Philadelphia is mandating that students and staff wear masks for the first 10 days of the school year, and is requiring that pre-kindergarten attendees mask-up all year,” Fox News reported earlier this month.
“Officials from the school district and city made the announcement in a letter to parents on Friday, stating that after the first 10 days of the school year, from Aug. 29 through Sept. 9, most schools will go mask-optional.”

Our leaders will re-implement mandates across the country if there’s no resistance.

It’s not clear if and when these left-wing cities will cut the crap and allow children, who are the lowest risk of suffering complications due to COVID, to experience a normal childhood again …
