‘Mindless, gutless simp’: Steve Bannon buries Mike Pence for defending FBI raid of Mar-a-Lago

The always outspoken former strategist for Donald Trump, Steve Bannon, pummeled former Vice President Mike Pence for his suggestion that Republicans shouldn’t criticize the FBI following their unprecedented raid of Mar-a-Lago.

“‘Mike Pence said, ‘We gotta stop criticizing, we’re a law and order party,’ Bannon said on his War Room podcast. “This is what this mindless, gutless simp said.”

As American Wire reported, Pence, speaking at Saint Anselm College on Wednesday, warned Republicans against “attacking” the FBI.

While Pence acknowledged that “unprecedented transparency” is needed, he added, “I also want to remind my fellow Republicans we can hold the attorney general accountable for the decision that he made without attacking the rank and file law enforcement personnel at the FBI.”

“The Republican Party is the party of law and order. Our party stands with the men and women who serve on the thin blue line at the federal, state and local level. And these attacks on the FBI must stop,” he continued.

“Calls to defund the FBI are just as wrong as calls to defund the police,” the former veep stated. “The truth of the matter is, we need to get to the bottom of what happened. We need to let the facts play out. But more than anything else, the American people need to be reassured in the integrity of our justice system, and the very appearance of a recurrence of politics playing a role in decisions at the Justice Department demands transparency as never before.”

In response, Bannon got brutal.

“This is an individual who has done more damage to this country than any other person in modern political history,” he reminded listeners. “He’s gutless.”

“Just even the sight of you bugs me,” he said of Pence. “Just a disgusting coward. Of course, we’re the party of law and order, right. But this is not what we’re talking about. We’re talking about a police state. And you don’t have the guts to stand up to it.”

Meanwhile, on Truth Social, former President Donald Trump was highlighting the FBI’s history of corruption.

In a “Truth” posted on Sunday, Trump said the agency “has gotten far worse” in recent years.

“The FBI has a long and unrelenting history of being corrupt,” Trump wrote. “Just look back to the days of J. Edgar Hoover. In the modern era, nothing has changed except that it has gotten far worse. Look at Comey, McCabe, Strzok and lover Lisa Page. Check out the brilliantly written but damning I.G. Reports. See what they were willing to do in order to get Crooked Hillary Clinton elected (they failed), and got caught! They spied on my campaign, pushed the FAKE Dossier, and illegally used the FISA Court…..”

And Pence, who clearly has learned nothing from the downfall of Liz Cheney, stated he would “consider” testifying in front of the Jan. 6 committee.

“If there was an invitation to participate, I would consider it,” he said. “But, you’ve heard me mention the Constitution a few times this morning. Under the Constitution, we have three coequal branches of government. Any invitation directed at me, I’d have to reflect on the unique role I was serving in as vice president. It would be unprecedented in history for a VP to be summoned to testify on Capitol Hill.”
