One easily-observable characteristic of politics in the modern age is that it has not matured. It simply continues to regress and devolve into base arguments devoid of any substantive policy debate.
The latest example of that can be seen in the current Twitter melees between Republican Senate candidate Dr. Mehmet Oz and Democratic candidate John Fetterman in the race for one of Pennsylvania’s Senate seats.
The uber-woke Fetterman has an apparent lead over Oz in polls by more than 10 points, but that’s not good enough for the Pennsylvania Lt. Governor who has defied state law by hanging a marijuana flag set off on each side by LGBTQ flags outside his office at the state Capitol.
He’s chosen instead to go after Oz for his success, criticizing him for owning too much property.
I’ve never spoken to a PA resident who doesn’t know how many houses they have… let alone be off by 8.

That prompted this response from Oz:

Fetterman suffered a stroke in May which left many wondering if he was physically fit to run, but it appears he’s taken a cue from President Joe Biden and is going for his own brass ring no matter how ill-advised. A speech he made last week was unintelligible to the extent that some on social media thought it made Vice President Kamala Harris look like a Shakespearean orator.

The similarities between Fetterman and the aging president were not lost on anyone.
