Redefining terms to suit a narrative has been a hallmark of President Joe Biden’s administration, but the practice hasn’t been solely limited to serious matters like recession. For the White House and the sycophantic corporate media, no reality is off limits to deny, and first lady Jill Biden’s attire while vacationing was a reminder of that.
The Bidens left the White House Wednesday for Kiawah Island, 25 miles southwest of Charleston, S.C., and were accompanied by family members like Hunter Biden, his wife Melissa Cohen, and his children Finnegan and Beau. On Sunday, the first lady was joined by Cohen and her granddaughter Finnegan for some shopping on the island and critics argued her dress was questionable at best.
The blue off the shoulder number was shared by the Real Mac Report on Twitter without commentary as the denizens of social media were more than happy to provide their own.

Many were simply struck speechless by the look or left longing for the previous FLOTUS’s seemingly effortless style.
Whoa what is that Fake Dr Jill is wearing?

Whoever dresses her really must not like her in the slightest. What is this current get up she has on?

Others were certain that the design reminded them of things that they had seen before. Namely, some rather mundane household items that might have just been lying around.
has anyone seen the bedspread? Anyone? … ooops, never mind.

A broader consensus suggested the materials may have actually been sourced from more discreet items typically associated with the current commander-in-chief.

Despite all of those reactions, there were still those who would cling to partisanship as the framework of their worldview and praised the first lady for her style choices.
She is a fashion ICON 😍😍😍

That notion has been peddled since Biden’s inauguration when the contention was made that “Dr. Biden is bringing American fashion back into the White House,” by Refinery29.
‘Sick, sad and hateful’: Media fawns over Jill Biden for bringing fashion ‘back’ to the White House https://t.co/bBC6YQZ1Mw pic.twitter.com/0YPhiR6hzY

Though not alone in their fawning, those remarks were some of the more blatant to dismiss the reality that one day prior, the FLOTUS was an actual fashion model in then-first lady Melania Trump. As Mollie Hemingway had pointed out at the time, “Our corporate media are so sick and sad and hateful that they will assert that the DEPARTURE of an actual fashion supermodel from the White House means the ARRIVAL, with the totally normally attired Jill Biden, of ***fashion*** to the White House.”
That behavior has persisted with Biden receiving an honor that Trump had been snubbed for in the form of a feature on the cover of Vogue magazine. However, some realities are undeniable and Melania Trump was in a league far beyond other recent first ladies. In fact, some were happy to point out that a closer comparison for Biden would be former first lady and former secretary of state Hillary Clinton.

The objective reality, as many have noted in the past, is that the other first ladies are “not even close.”
