Biden’s carefree luxury vacation is not sitting well with struggling Americans

President Joe Biden may have tried to have a mic drop moment last week when he absurdly claimed zero inflation one day for setting off on another vacation. But as he lives it up and Americans struggle, the optics show “he actually does not care.”

Ashley Rindsberg, author of “The Gray Lady Winked” joined “Fox & Friends First” co-host Carley Shimkus Monday in reaction to the White House’s defense of Biden’s dwindling approval numbers. While the president and his family are staying at a $20 million home on Kiawah Island, S.C., White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was trying to claim that Biden understood exactly what Americans are feeling.

She told ABC’s Jonathan Karl Sunday, “We get it. We understand what the American people are feeling at this time. This is a number one priority, inflation has been a number one priority for this president.”

Though the White House may understand, caring is a different matter, and Rindsberg called out the apparent lack thereof to Shimkus. “You just pointed out that Biden is vacationing in a $20 million home which, good for him but, for the rest of us out here it doesn’t look good.”

“And you want a leader who you can feel like is on your side and can relate to the experience you have right now,” he went on, “not an experience he might have had 50 years ago when he was a kid, and that is just not the message he is sending out and I think that’s because he actually does not care.”

To support his claim, the author pointed to the fact that as Americans struggle to make ends meet, the president wouldn’t even stop a bike ride on the beach to field questions from the more than favorable press.

“I think this is a pretty clear case of his handlers being terrified of Biden getting in front of that microphone and they’re doing everything they can to keep him away exactly at a time when we need the president of the United States to be leading the country, to be telling us what is what,” Rindsberg argued.

“Here we’ve got Joe Biden biking along on the beach in South Carolina avoiding reporters and,” he went on to emphasize, “essentially avoiding the American people and I think that’s the bigger issue here is that you cannot as president avoid the people that you are accountable to and I think that is one of the many, many failures that we’re seeing coming out of the Biden White House.”

Further proof that accountability is not something the current administration wants to get anywhere near was also provided by Jean-Pierre when she replied to Karl’s question on whether the so-called Inflation Reduction Act was Orwellian by stating, “I appreciate the question.”

“We’ve actually addressed this with the [Congressional Budget Office],” she went on to claim. “The top line number, there’s more in there that shows that it will have the money…It’s making sure that billionaires in corporate America are paying their fair share, making sure that the tax code is a little bit more fair. So when you do that, when you put it in its totality, you will see it will bring down the deficit, which will help fight inflation.”

Like “zero inflation,” the press secretary’s bunk answer was all fluff and no substance to maintain the narrative of Biden having accomplishments before the midterm elections as Americans continue to struggle with gas prices that were 44.9 percent higher in July from the year before. This has forced many average citizens to change even how frequently they visit the grocery store, forget taking a simple day trip or weekend getaway.

Meanwhile, the president has already spent 188 full or partial days away from the White House and is on track to take more vacation days than any other U.S. president. As Rindsberg said, “I think that’s because he actually does not care.”
