‘Squad’ Rep collected up to $100k in rent payments during pandemic, while calling to cancel rent

The idea that socialism is for the people, not the person is more than just a catchy way to call out elitist progressives who enjoy wearing “Tax the Rich” dresses at $30,000 ticketed galas.

“Squad” members like Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) may talk a big game when it comes to promises of handouts in exchange for votes, but financial disclosures highlight the hypocrisy of advertised altruism with as much as a $100,000 payout.

The lockdowns and draconian measures enforced throughout the COVID pandemic were rife with globalists pushing “Build Back Better” initiatives to institute transformative policies under the guise of crisis management. Among them was Tlaib who wanted not only to defer rent payments until the pandemic was ridden out, she wanted to cancel them altogether until April 2022.

Now, according to her 2021 annual financial disclosure report reviewed by Fox News Digital, Tlaib had continued to collect rent on a Detroit, Michigan-owned property even after she had previously been called out for it.

“Tlaib filed her latest financial disclosure report Thursday,” the outlet explained, “which reveals she collected $15,001 and $50,000 in rental income from a Detroit property in 2021. The Michigan Democrat reported the same rental income for 2020 last August, meaning she now made between $30,000 and $100,000 from rent payments during the pandemic.”

As reported last year, Tlaib was not the only progressive capitalizing while promoting socialism. Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-Mass.) had also pocketed as much as $15,000 from a Boston, Massachusetts multi-family apartment.

To be clear, neither congresswoman appeared to be in violation of the law for having tenants. However, they were clearly in violation of their own claimed ethos as these investments continued to rake in sizable sums the same time they were calling for rent to be canceled.

“I’m joining Rep. Ilhan Omar and fellow colleagues for a press conference on the Rent & Mortgage Cancellation Act,” Tlaib posted in March 2021 as she was joined by Democratic Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (N.Y.) and Ilhan Omar (Minn.), reintroducing a plan to cancel rent and mortgage payments a year after lockdowns had taken hold. “Our residents need help during this ongoing pandemic & this legislation seeks to provide that help to ensure our neighbors have the housing they need.”

A few months earlier, Pressley had stated, “Keeping families housed is a matter of public health. We must cancel rent, extend eviction and foreclosure moratoriums, provide rental assistance, and offer legal representation for those at risk of eviction. This is a public health emergency.”

The severity of the emergency was not overlooked by Tlaib who went on to say during that press conference with Omar, “I’m proud to stand here and support a very important legislation and as somebody that represents the third poorest congressional district in the country that has been directly harmed from this pandemic…You were already in survivor mode prior to it and now it’s gotten much worse.”

Understanding that and pushing for her socialist agenda, Tlaib still failed to take voluntary action to lead by example, proving yet again that the endgame is always control.

At the time of this writing Tlaib had not responded to request for comments from Fox News and Pressley had yet to submit her 2021 financial disclosure which was due by Saturday.
