Liz Warren suggests that she’d be president if only she had a penis and … well, that was fun!

Failed presidential candidate Elizabeth Warren is being soundly mocked over remarks attributed to her in a lengthy Politico magazine book excerpt, suggesting that her path to the White House was blocked because of misogyny from the party’s voters or, as the senator seems to suggest, she could have been president if she only had a penis.

The Massachusetts Democrat who, despite high hopes, failed to live up to her own hype, dropping out of contention after her humiliating 3rd place finish in her own state’s 2020 primary, is one of the examples from a new book from NBC News correspondent Ali Vitali examining why America hasn’t elected a female president yet, with the latest tall tale from “Pocahontas” being a part of an excerpt published by the outlet.

In addition to rehashing her spat with her Senate colleague Bernie Sanders – another failed candidate – whom she openly accused of being a misogynist, Warren is quoted as she expressed anger and frustration from barnstorming in Iowa, the critical early state caucus where she would lag behind comrade Bernie and “Mayor’ Pete Buttigieg, failing to break through with voters.

In Vitali’s new book, “Electable: Why America Hasn’t Put a Woman in the White House . . . Yet,” an excerpt in Politico reads that “back on the plane in the hours following the January 2020 Iowa Caucus, hurtling into New Hampshire and toward the next primary — down but not yet out — she knew at least one explanation for why. Deepa Shivaram, NBC’s Warren embed, brought up the ‘women win’ messaging and the fact that, at least in this Iowa Democratic Caucus … they didn’t. Where did that message come from, Deepa asked, and why was it important to speak to gender now?”

“’I’m responding to what people wanna hear,’ Warren told us plainly, with a characteristically biting edge in her voice. She spoke sometimes as if all the annoyance and frustration she had about the political system simmered right on the edge of her words, teeming on the top of her teeth, threatening to spill over,” Vitali writes. “We’d talked about the dynamics of Iowa, her competitors and the pressure she put on herself not ‘to screw this up.’ But here and now she offered her plainest view of the landscape yet: ‘Everyone comes up to me and says, ‘I would vote for you, if you had a penis.’’”

Warren’s bitter remarks serve as a reminder of how she plays fast and loose with the truth as she has done throughout her career in academia and politics, relying on playing the victim and not admitting that her own abrasive personality and unlikability was a larger factor in limiting her political appeal than her lack of a male member.

Twitter users had a field day with Senator Warren’s latest ridiculous comments.

With reports that many Democrats are longing to move on from the inept, rapidly declining President Joe Biden, the door could be open for another White House run for Warren who has the name recognition and the right gender in what could be a wide-open field in 2024 if the doddering 79-year-old incumbent is forced into retirement.
