‘Release the documents now!’ Trump reacts to Garland presser, as leaks say FBI was looking for classified nuclear documents

The Washington Post broke a story on Thursday claiming that sources report the FBI tossed former President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence outrageously searching for classified nuclear weapons documents.

The excuse given for the unprecedented violation of a former president’s privacy was that government officials feared that the information that they believed Trump was hiding at his home could fall into the wrong hands. There is no indication that the agents found anything of the sort at Mar-a-Lago after tearing the place apart for over nine hours on Monday.

Attorney General Merrick Garland stated that he had personally authorized the warrant. He commented on it just moments after Justice Department lawyers filed a motion seeking to unseal the search warrant in the case in a blatant attempt at damage control.

Garland hotly defended FBI agents as “dedicated, patriotic public servants” and proclaimed he would not “stand by silently when their integrity is unfairly attacked … Every day they protect the American people from violent crime, terrorism, and other threats to their safety while safeguarding our civil rights. They do so at great personal sacrifice and risk to themselves. I am honored to work alongside them.”

“Upholding the rule of law means applying the law evenly without fear or favor,” the attorney general said. “Under my watch, that is precisely what the Justice Department is doing.”

“Release the documents now!” Trump wrote on TRUTH Social at 11:40 p.m. ET on Thursday.

He called the raid “unAmerican, unwarranted, and unnecessary,” and asserted that he approved of the “immediate release” of the warrant.

“Not only will I not oppose the release of documents related to the unAmerican, unwarranted, and unnecessary raid and break-in of my home in Palm Beach, Florida, Mar-a-Lago, I am going a step further by ENCOURAGING the immediate release of those documents,” the former president stated, “even though they have been drawn up by radical left Democrats and possible future political opponents, who have a strong and powerful vested interest in attacking me, much as they have done for the last 6 years.”

“My poll numbers are the strongest they have ever been, fundraising by the Republican Party is breaking all records, and midterm elections are fast approaching. This unprecedented political weaponization of law enforcement is inappropriate and highly unethical,” he declared. “The world is watching as our Country is being brought to a new low, not only on our border, crime, economy, energy, national security, and so much more, but also with respect to our sacred elections!”

The anonymous sources who leaked to the Washington Post were very vague on details concerning the type of information FBI agents were looking for and did not say whether it involved weapons belonging to the United States or some other nation.

The Washington Post provided cover for the DOJ, FBI, and the Biden administration in an attempt to justify the raid.

“Material about nuclear weapons is especially sensitive and usually restricted to a small number of government officials, experts said. Publicizing details about U.S. weapons could provide an intelligence road map to adversaries seeking to build ways of countering those systems. And other countries might view exposing their nuclear secrets as a threat, experts said,” the leftist media outlet reported.

“One former Justice Department official, who in the past oversaw investigations of leaks of classified information, said the type of top-secret information described by the people familiar with the probe would probably cause authorities to try to move as quickly as possible to recover sensitive documents that could cause grave harm to U.S. security,” the Washington Post continued.

“If that is true, it would suggest that material residing unlawfully at Mar-a-Lago may have been classified at the highest classification level,” asserted David Laufman, who is the former chief of the Justice Department’s counterintelligence section, which investigates leaks of classified information. “If the FBI and the Department of Justice believed there were top secret materials still at Mar-a-Lago, that would lend itself to greater ‘hair-on-fire’ motivation to recover that material as quickly as possible.”

The media is also accusing Trump and Republicans of inciting violence over the raid and are doing their level best to tie that to an unhinged individual named Ricky Shiffer who allegedly stormed a Cincinnati FBI office on Thursday and wound up being taken out by federal agents.

The Washington Post is also alleging he may have had ties to the Proud Boys. All of this comes from anonymous sources and is, at best, nebulous and at worst slanderously fascistic in nature.
