Leftist org blends anti-police, anti-capitalist rhetoric into K-12 gender theory for schools on a massive scale

Writer and activist Christopher Rufo is exposing the GSA Network as a radical left-wing organization that has promoted K-12 gender theory that is merged with anti-cop and anti-capitalist rhetoric in more than 4,000 schools.

The woke agenda has reportedly been pushed in LGBTQ clubs and student groups across the nation.

GSA is an umbrella group that oversees more than 4,000 “gender and sexuality” alliances in schools that span 40 states. It has an annual budget of over $2 million according to nonprofit tracker Guidestar. The organization is big on radical gender theory but also promotes defunding the police, “decolonization and reparations” for minorities, and anti-capitalism.

“The individual chapters, which operate in elementary, middle, and high schools, often use the language of ‘LGBTQ inclusion’ and ‘anti-bullying’ in their public relations, but behind the scenes, the central organization is driven by pure left-wing radicalism that extends far beyond sexuality,” Rufo asserted.

The senior fellow at the Manhattan Institute also stated that the group relies on “programming” students so they can adequately participate in the group.

Rufo obtained a toolkit document for students so they can organize GSA clubs online. It tells them how to engage in “self-work,” which involves the student conducting self-examination of his or her inherent systemic racial or gender privilege, how those privileges contribute to the oppression of LGBTQ people and people of color, and how he or she can combat their privilege in order to more effectively ‘commit to dismantling these systems for collective liberation.’

Other instructions involve examining a student’s purpose for engaging in self-work to help them “stay committed to liberation.” It advises students that “self-work happens everywhere — not just in a GSA meeting.”

Included in the toolkit is an appendix with directions for students on how to examine their privileges and how they contribute to the oppression of minority groups. The directions include, “Groups with systemic power (privilege),” which includes straight people, cisgender people, men, and white people; “Systems of oppression,” which includes white supremacy, patriarchy, and imperialism; “Oppressed groups,” which include transgender people, black and indigenous people; “Prejudice,” which is described as “a preconceived idea about a group with no factual backing;” and “Discrimination,” or “the actions and ways folks are affected by the system.”

Rufo also got his hands on a nine-point manifesto the GSA Network borrowed from the National Trans Youth Council. They are ostensibly using it “to guide our collective vision for gender justice and liberation.”

The platform takes its cues from other activist groups such as the Black Panther Party’s Ten-Point Program, the Young Lord’s 12 Point Program and Platform, and the Third World Gay Revolution.

The nine points are as follows:

  • We Call for the Right to Self-Determination and Control of Our Destinies
  • We Call for the Abolition of the Police, ICE, Borders, and the Judicial System
  • We Call for an End to Disposability Politics and a Commitment to Transformative Justice
  • We Call for an End of the Cisgender Heterosexual Patriarchy
  • We call for Decolonization and Reparations for all Indigenous and Black Peoples
  • We Call for Comprehensive Education that Reflects our Histories and Needs
  • We Call for an End to Global White Supremacy
  • We Call for Land Justice and Environmental Justice
  • We Invite our Comrades, Accomplices, and Allies to Join Us

 

The GSA Network goes well beyond the sexualization of children. It also engages in anti-capitalist programming. A summer camp promoted and run by the group dedicates a portion of its website to “Economic Justice and Capitalism.” The site describes the subject matter as “often the most immersive experience for campers.”

Those attending the summer camp learn “to think through the ways that capitalism impacts our communities and greater systems that young folks interact with on a regular basis, including: school, incarceration, and employment.” Attendees also learn “how capitalism erases parts of our community and therefore erases all of queer and trans community,” combined with “techniques” for promoting the messaging with their communities.
