Georgia Republican Senate nominee Herschel Walker is “glad” that a rabid anti-Trump GOP group paid $100,000 for an ad that includes graphic past comments by his ex-wife that he claims were taken out of context.

The Trump-endorsed candidate’s ex-wife had previously described him choking her and putting a gun to her head during their estranged marriage.
“My opponents launched a dirty attack ad. They dug up an old video and took it out of context,” Walker contends in a video he released on Wednesday and then shared first with Fox News. “My opponents think they’re hurting me — but I am glad they did this ad.”
The Republican Accountability PAC took out the ad which included a clip of an old interview with Walker’s ex-wife Cindy DeAngelis Grossman where she claimed that “he held the gun to my temple and said he was going to blow my brains out.”
It is no secret that in the past, Walker had struggled with mental health issues during his marriage to Grossman. He has never hidden that fact. He also candidly noted that he doesn’t remember the episodes due to his illness at the time. The left is attempting to weaponize that now in order to defeat him in Georgia.

“Don’t let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.” Eph. 4:29. @ReverendWarnock & his friends want to stigmatize & turn us against each other. Let’s reject that,” Walker tweeted.
Walker even wrote a book in 2008 detailing his diagnosis of Dissociative Personality Disorder. He has taken full responsibility for his actions back then and admits that he had violent thoughts about harming himself and others as well. The college and professional football star recounts that he had up to a dozen alternative identities before recovering from mental illness.
In the video, Walker asserts that “my ex-wife Cindy and I are good friends — along with her husband and my wife. And I am grateful for all the support Cindy gave me during the hardest time of my life. I came forward back then in an effort to save lives, save marriages – to help other people.”
Walker’s words seem to be aimed at his opponent, Democratic incumbent Sen. Raphael Warnock. He charges that “my opponents don’t care about the truth. The fact is Sen. Warnock can’t talk about accomplishments. He’s failed Georgia. So he and his friends will lie and deceive.”
“You learn to work hard. You learn to love your country, love your family, and you have a strong faith.”
We need more people like @HerschelWalker in the U.S. Senate! #RealAmerica

The Never Trump group has vowed to spend $1 million to target Walker in Georgia. They also state that they will spend eight figures across six crucial battleground states to defeat Republican candidates backed by Trump.
“Herschel Walker might have been a great football player, but he clearly doesn’t deserve to be a senator,” Sarah Longwell, the group’s treasurer, proclaimed. “That’s why our campaign is built around the voices of Georgia Republicans who know that he’s unfit for office.”
Due in part to name recognition and his legendary reputation in football for Georgia, Walker easily beat all his rivals in the May primary. The left is ostensibly terrified of him and they can’t stand that he has been a close friend of the former president for many years. Walker has shunned debates to focus on taking Warnock down.
“I know for a fact that I can trust @herschelwalker to vote for policies that will help my small business. I cannot trust Raphael Warnock.”

The Warnock campaign and Democratic groups have accused Walker of “bizarre or false statements.” He’s also been smeared for alleged reports that he has overstated the success of his businesses and academic record.
Warnock is seen as vulnerable by Republicans and Walker has an excellent chance of beating him despite the leftist senator raising far more in donations than he has. Currently, a Fox News poll is giving Warnock a mid-single digit edge over his GOP challenger but that is not deterring Walker in the least.
