The political rift widened even further in America on Tuesday as Trump-backed candidates won primaries for Republicans and radical progressives furthered their wins for Democrats in a race to the midterm elections.

Former President Trump retained his title as GOP kingmaker as a number of candidates he endorsed swept to victory on Tuesday.
In Wisconsin, Trump-backed businessman Tim Michels won the GOP gubernatorial primary, according to Fox News. Michels will now go on to run against Democratic Gov. Tony Evers in November.
“That’s what this race has always been about, and that’s what the general election race is going to be about as well, standing up for the hard-working people of Wisconsin,” Michels proclaimed in his victory speech. “They’ve been left behind by the Democratic Party that just wants to focus on the social issues. From my first day in office to my very last day as governor, jobs and the economy are arguably my number one priority.”
“[My wife Barbara and I] feel like we’re on a slippery slope toward socialism, and it’s being cloaked behind all these other social issues,” he declared. “But we know what’s happening. We can see what’s going on. And we said, ‘You know what? We’re going to do everything we can to stand in the way of the tearing down of America, the America that we know and love.'”
“I’ll tell you what, Tony Evers, he’s failed the people of Wisconsin… He’s been a weak leader. And we are going to make him an unessential worker come November,” Michels vowed.

Former President Trump congratulated Michels on Truth Social.
“Congratulations to Tim Michels on his win against a wonderful and highly-competitive opponent, Rebecca Kleefisch,” Trump stated. “I know both sides will come together and defeat one of the worst Governors in the Country, Tony Evers.”

Also in Wisconsin, Republican firebrand and Trump supporter Senator Ron Johnson easily won his primary with 84 percent of the vote, according to Politico.
Trump endorsed Johnson in April of 2021, before he had even announced his intention to run, saying the senator “has no idea how popular he is. Run, Ron, run!”

Another notable win for Trump on Tuesday was the defeat of Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler (R-Wash.) She was one of ten Republican House members who voted to impeach Trump. Herrera Beutler conceded her re-election bid on Tuesday as Trump-supported challenger Joe Kent took the helm, according to Fox News.
Of the ten Republicans, only one has won a primary and that was Dan Newhouse (R-Wash.) The others have either retired or have been defeated and that will almost certainly include Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) who is expected to get clobbered in her primary.
Kent, an ardent supporter of Trump who is also a former Green Beret, will face Democratic candidate Marie Perez in the election that will be held on Nov. 8.
Our top priority in 2023 is dismantling the administrative state and bringing the national security state to heel. To accomplish this we have to win in November; to do that we must unify. pic.twitter.com/RXvBv5Htj0

In Connecticut, Trump-endorsed Leora Levy won the GOP primary.
Trump called Levy a “tireless advocate” for Connecticut. While giving her his endorsement, he pummeled Democratic Sen. Richard Blumenthal’s “fake war story” from his time in the military as well.
Levy “will defeat the corrupt Richard Blumenthal in November, and what a victory that will be,” Trump asserted.

Of note on the Progressive side of things, Rep. Ilhan Omar eeked out winning her primary in Minnesota with just 50.3 percent of the vote, according to CNN. The “Squad” member is running for a third term in the state.
Her win comes the week after two other members of the “Squad,” Missouri Rep. Cori Bush and Michigan Rep. Rashida Tlaib, also beat back primary challengers.
Omar’s win is surprising considering her unpopularity among Muslims and other factions in the state over gay marriage and abortion, according to the Washington Free Beacon.
Tonight’s victory is a testament to how much our district believes in the collective values we are fighting for and how much they’re willing to do to help us overcome defeat. This win is for them and everyone who still believes that regression will not be the legacy of the Fifth. pic.twitter.com/z7u0iVI5PU
