According to The Daily Beast’s Confider, Fox News host Tucker Carlson is concerned that his daily texting with InfoWars’ Alex Jones will be released, which would reportedly be “highly embarrassing” for him.
Citing an anonymous source “close to the Fox News star,” the Confider reports that Carlson is “sh****ing himself” over the idea that Jones’ lawyers accidentally sent two years’ worth of text messages to the lawyers of the Sandy Hook victims’ families. Those texts are now in the hands of investigators who are looking into the January 6 riot at the Capitol.
Mark Bankston, one of the lawyers for the families, claims that the digital conversations include “intimate messages” between Jones and Roger Stone, who has since advised Jones to sue his lawyer for the monumental error.
Carlson’s apparent admiration for Jones is not a new find, however. In April, he spoke fondly of the radio show host and more specifically the hate he receives on ‘Tucker Carlson Today’ while talking to his guest, Savanah Hernandez.
“I’m just fascinated by the hate for Alex Jones. I’m not a daily Alex Jones viewer. I don’t view anything regularly, actually. But I think Alex Jones seems really talented. He’s smart. He’s funny as hell. Truly funny,” Carlson explained. “He’s a lot more talented than I am in a lot of ways. That’s my takeaway from Alex Jones. But why is he such a threat? Like, why would you hate Alex Jones? I’ve never understood that.”
While it appears that the friendship Jones and Carlson share is fairly standard for the industry, the Confider’s anonymous sources appear to believe that something in their communications is causing concern for the Fox News host. It remains to be seen if any information is leaked from their texts, let alone anything “highly embarrassing.”
This information comes on the heels of a jury in Texas ruling Jones must pay a massive $49 million in compensatory and punitive damages to the parents of one of the children who died during the 2014 mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School that shook the country.
Podcast host Megyn Kelly admitted that she is glad Jones was ordered to pay such a large sum after she was asked to testify against him during the trial.
“’I knew that it would likely stir up a sh*t storm of negative news stories from the Left and would also not go over well with the Right, some of which has come to really embrace Alex Jones more recently. Some think of him as a martyr for having been de-platformed another event that happened shortly after our interview,” she said on Monday’s edition of “The Megyn Kelly Show.”
“But the bottom line was there was no world in which I was saying ‘No’ to Neil and Scarlett,” she added, referring to the parents of slain Jesse Lewis, Neil Heslin and Scarlett Lewis.
