Trump, Tucker and MTG hang at LIV golf tournament as chants of ‘Let’s Go Brandon’ erupt

Former President Donald Trump hosted a controversial LIV golf tournament over the weekend where a “Let’s Go Brandon” chant erupted Sunday and if the knock against President Joe Biden weren’t enough to infuriate liberals, some well-known guests enjoying it certainly did the trick.

Trump National Golf Club Bedminster hosted a stop on the Saudi-backed LIV Golf Invitational Series in Bedminster, N.J., where twelve teams and 48 golfers competed for three days vying for the top prize of $4 million. Henrik Stenson went on to win the event, but the former president stole the show when he came out to watch some of the competition flanked by members of his family, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.), and Fox News host Tucker Carlson.

Fans broke into the “Let’s Go Brandon” chant that ten months past its inception at a NASCAR event remains a favored way to say “F*ck Joe Biden.” Trump, Donald Trump Jr., Kimberly Guilfoyle, and Eric Trump appeared enthused by the crowd while Carlson and Greene looked to be chanting along.

Members of the left-wing Twitter mob viewed the chant as further proof that the event was unpatriotic and anti-American, a sentiment already espoused because of the tour’s backing from Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Funds.

As previously reported, family members of victims of 9/11 had urged Trump to back out of the event because of the wealthy nation’s connections to terrorism, specifically that 15 of the 19 9/11 hijackers were from Saudi Arabia.

“The evidence, Mr. Trump, is more clear than ever,” they wrote. “The Saudi nation is largely responsible for the death of our loved ones and for this horrific attack on Americans. And you know it. We ask for the opportunity to have some of our family members visit with you in the coming days to discuss our concerns in person with you and urge you to cease further business with the regime that was complicit in the murder of our loved ones.”

For his part, Trump considers himself ahead of the curve on the LIV issue and he explained on Truth Social, “All of those golfers that remain ‘loyal’ to the very disloyal PGA, in all of its different forms, will pay a big price when the inevitable MERGER with LIV comes, and you get nothing but a big ‘thank you’ from PGA officials who are making Millions of Dollars a year. If you don’t take the money now, you will get nothing after the merger takes place, and only say how smart the original signees were.”

The Professional Golfers Association of America had suspended 17 golfers early in June after they chose to compete in the inaugural LIV Golf event in London. Among those suspended were Phil Mickelson and Dustin Johnson, himself a frequent golf partner of Trump.

Stenson had also been penalized for his decision to compete in the LIV event, losing his European Ryder Cup captaincy as reported by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, and Donald Trump Jr. noted his victory Sunday was “The greatest F/U in the history of Golf,” calling out the Ryder Cup in his post.

Others were outraged over human rights concerns posed by the Saudis and their alleged responsibility in the killing of journalist Jamal Khashoggi. As Trump had called out the PGA as future hypocrites, one person pointed to Democrats’ hypocrisy as Biden recently visited the Middle East and cozied up to Saudi Arabia to help him solve the energy crisis that he has orchestrated.

Meanwhile, others appreciated it for the entertainment it was meant to provide and were unwavering in their support for Trump.
