Matt Gaetz puts defiant top DoJ official in hot seat over Hunter Biden, warns him ‘winter is coming’

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla) savagely grilled Assistant Attorney General for the National Security Division Matthew G. Olsen over the potential national security threat posed by Hunter Biden, and between multiple responses of “I’m not going to comment,” he got the demi-AG to admit there is, in fact, an ongoing investigation into the information revealed on the first son’s forgotten “laptop from hell.”

In a hearing on Capitol Hill, Gaetz asked Olsen, “Is Hunter Biden a national security threat?”

Olsen did his best to dodge the question, claiming, “It’s not a question that would come up before me.”

“You’re the head of the national security division,” Gaetz shot back, “so it seems sort of on the nose.”

“You would certainly concede that if the adult offspring of the president of the United States or the vice president were compromised, that would be a national security threat, right?” Gaetz asked.

And thus, the tapdancing commenced.

“We speak through our filings in court,” replied Olsen, “and we speak through our actions in open court.”

“Speak to this,” Gaetz urged the stammering prosecutor. “Where’s the laptop? Do you know where Hunter Biden’s laptop is?”

Olsen shrugged and repeated, “I’m not going to talk about any potential ongoing investigation as I sit here.”

“You come here and tell us you’re going to follow the facts and the law, but you can’t even follow a laptop that you guys have had for three years,” Gaetz stated.

“We follow the facts and the law,” argued Olsen, “and we speak in open court about our cases.”

“Yeah, but you aren’t speaking about this,” Gaetz retorted. “But you know who is speaking about it? The whistleblowers from the FBI who have gone to Senator Grassley and said that you guys purposefully take any information that is derogatory about Hunter Biden and you go and rathole it so that you never have to speak about it in any circumstance.”

As BizPac Review reported, Senator Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) has alleged that “highly credible” whistleblowers from within the Department of Justice (DOJ) have revealed a widespread effort within the FBI to either downplay or discredit any negative stories that surface about Hunter Biden, his shady deals, and President Joe Biden’s potential involvement in them.

“The information provided to my office involves concerns about the FBI’s receipt and use of derogatory information relating to Hunter Biden, and the FBI’s false portrayal of acquired evidence as disinformation,” Grassley stated in a letter to FBI Director Christopher Wray and Attorney General Merrick Garland on July 25.

With Olsen stuck firmly in the hot seat, Gaetz rattled off example after example of potentially damning multimillion-dollar deals, namely with Chinese businessmen tied to the Chinese Communist Party.”

“Do you guys call Joe Biden ‘the Big Guy’ at the Department of Justice?” he asked Olsen.

“I think it’s important to understand why we don’t speak about cases outside of the courtroom–” Olsen began.

“I already know why,” Gaetz interjected. “You know why you don’t speak about it? Because it’s about Hunter Biden. You guys have no problem leaking about other stuff. You’ve got going out and tagging parents at school board meetings as a national security threat, but when all the facts and all of the law before you regarding the corruption of Hunter Biden, you don’t want to speak to that at all.”

“And it’s precisely why you’ve got folks that are talking to Senator Grassley about it,” he added, before listing the alleged details of more shocking Hunter Biden deals.

When asked to comment, Olsen repeatedly declined.

Finally, Gaetz said, “Here’s the thing. It’s pretty easy to see that Hunter Biden is compromised. I think every American knows that’s a threat to national security. I think we are watching a crime spree in progress that Hunter Biden is orchestrating.”

“And one has to wonder,” he continued, “What are the Chinese getting for the tens of millions of dollars that they are cutting the Biden family in on. What is the Chinese Communist Party getting as a result of cutting in 10 percent for the Big Guy?”

“You know, Jim Biden said to Tony Bobulinski that the reason that they are able to get away with this corruption is plausible deniability,” Gaetz told Olsen. “And that is precisely the plausible deniability that you are animating and exemplifying today.”

“And you know what?” he asked. “Winter’s coming. We’re going to be in the majority and then you’re going to have to answer these questions for the country.”
